Direct Glass Melting Melting Process Raw Material In this part of the process the different parts of the row material are blended and melt to a temperature of approx. 1500°C. Melting Glass The heating could be done with Gas, Oxygen and electrically with boosting electrodes. Transformers Power Controllers Field Bus Refining process 1 2 Stirring When producing TFT glass the refining is the most important step. It is when the glass melt gets rid of the gaseous bubbles, which are formed when the glass raw materials are heated. As a rule a refining agent is added, which sets oxygen free in the melt.
