®
CoverShield®, Halco’s safety coated product line, features a comprehensive offering of shatterresistant lamps and coatings designed to meet a variety of application requirements. Types of
coatings vary depending on the lamp application. In high heat environments, for example, PFA is
used while industry leading materials are applied elsewhere. The CoverShield product line includes
Compact Fluorescent, Linear Fluorescent, Incandescent, Halogen and Metal Halide lamp categories.
• CoverShield General Service Incandescent and Heat lamps last 1,500-5,000 hours and are
protected with a Silicone or PFA coating for shatter resistance and to prevent lamps from
thermal shock.
• CoverShield Compact Fluorescent lamps are a cost effective option to Incandescent lamps and
easy to maintain. All CoverShield CF lamps use a Mylon or Silicone coating that is shatterresistant and protects lamps from thermal shock. Both coatings restrict glass shards, mercury
and phosphor within the lamp’s envelope to help offset the risk of contamination.
• Both CoverShield General Service Incandescent and Compact Fluorescent lamps are the
solution for a broad range of lighting applications, including food service, freezers/commercial
coolers, outdoor lighting, drop lights and construction sites.
• Metal Halide CoverShield lamps experience a long life of up-to 20,000 hours average rated
life and are used in a variety of applications such as industrial/commercial, municipal lighting,
retail, security and street lighting. They tolerate a wide range of operating temperatures, making
them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
• All Metal Halide lamps, including protected Metal Halide lamps, are coated with a PFA coating
due to the heat they generate.
• Halco’s Halogen CoverShield lamps are also protected with a Mylon coating.
• Our CoverShield coating is shock absorbent and our linear lamps are NSF, CFIA, USDA, FDA
and OSHA approved. Applications for CoverShield Linear Fluorescents include high-bay
fixtures, strip lighting, clean rooms, food service and manufacturing. CoverShield safety coated
lamps protect against rupture whether by impact, dropping, unusual stress or thermal shock.
The protective coating provides containment of glass shards and other materials in the event of
rupture. This containment minimizes the risk of contamination and injury while eliminating the
expense of cleanup.

THINK SAVINGS. THINK GREEN
Pulse Start Metal Halide
Pulse Start lamp and ballast systems consume less energy compared to standard Metal Halide systems, while
achieving similar lumen output. Offering improved lumen maintenance and high efficacy up-to 110 lumens per watt,
Pulse Start systems have faster warm-up and re-strike time. Additionally, these systems feature a formed arc tube for
optimal thermal management.
CFL
Compact Fluorescent lamps last up-to ten times longer than standard Incandescent lamps and generate up-to 80%
in energy savings. They can be used in almost any fixture where Incandescent bulbs are used, while maintaining the
same quality light output.
LED
Offering long life and lower wattages, Halco’s ProLED® lamps have the highest lumen output and provide optimum
efficiency. Long life of 40,000 hours saves on maintenance and lamp replacement costs. Plus, these instant start lamps
have excellent color rendering and are mercury-free.
Linear Fluorescent
Halco offers energy saving solutions by combining our ProLume® Eco-Shield® High-Lumen T8 lamps with our
ProLume® ProFormance® multi-volt, low ballast factor ballasts. This lamp-ballast system uses 15% less power, while
maintaining near equal light levels as compared to standard T8 lamp and ballast systems. ProLume® Extended Life
T5 and T8 Lamps provide 40,000 hours when operated on an Instant Start ballast and up-to 46,000 hours with a
Programmed Start ballast. The Extended Life of these TCLP Compliant lamps means maintenance cost savings and
reduced mercury disposal.
HaloXen Reduced Wattage
Our HaloXen® Reduced Wattage lamps utilize a specially designed filament structure and a Halogen-Xenon gas
mixture, producing a high degree of energy efficiency. The heavier Xenon gas reduces filament evaporation and
increases light output, while the Halogen gas maintains a clear glass wall and redeposits evaporated tungsten back
onto the filament, extending the life. The special filament design positions the light center in the proper location
within the reflector to ensure the light is efficiently projected.
