HID Metal Halide Electronic Ballasts Options
Please note following OPTIONS when ordering Sage HID ballasts
Hot Lamp/Output Short Circuit Protection
Option A
Thermal switch Auto Reset Retry 20-30 minutes NOTE: High voltage is present at any time unless
thermal switch detects high heat and will shut the ballast down or the lamp may re-strike at any time
when it cools down to a reasonable temperature and the output short circuit has been alleviated.
The 20W HID ballasts are not available in Option B
Option B
Programmed I. C.Control with reset. Specify “ R ” at the end of Model #
for 35W/39W ONLY. All higher wattages are available in this option by design
Up to 30 re-strikes for hot lamp, output short circuit condition or recovery from the short circuit on the
output before the ballast will shut down. Retry 30 cycles (Each cycle: for 20W,35W, 39W, 50W,
70W, 150W - 1 KHz 4 seconds high voltage, 2 seconds 0 voltage, 4 seconds high voltage, 2
seconds 0 voltage, 4 seconds high voltage, 44 seconds 0 voltage and for 100W - 5KHz instead of
1KHZ). Ensuing re-strikes will require reset at power source. Ballast output will shutdown after 30
minutes if lamp fails. 70W, 100W and 150W are not available in Option A version.
External Power supply wiring requirement
Specify “ DT ” at the end of Model # When using Sage HID electronic ballast with external power
supply for 120V DC at 30mA constant output at 120V-277V AC input for the ballast. “DT” Models
will be available with two additional leads.
For 50 Watt to 150 Watt ballasts Only
Specify “ TT ” at the end of Model # When using Sage HID electronic ballast with internal thermal
switch and external power supply for 120V DC at 30mA constant output at 120V-277V AC input for
the ballast.
