Assumptions
The pricing information includes the following assumptions:
 The price per unit is the price for each test booklet ordered. For example, if the LEA orders the printed CST
for ELA (Grade 7), the end-of-course CST for Algebra I, and the CST Grade 7 Writing response booklets
for a student, it would cost the LEA a total of $46.80 ($11.70 for CST Grade 7 ELA + $5.85 for CST
Algebra I + $5.85 for CST Grade 7 Writing) for the test materials for that student. If the LEA orders the
printed CMA for ELA (Grade 9) and the CST for General Mathematics for one student, it would cost the
LEA $23.08 ($17.23 for the CMA + $5.85 for the CST) for the test materials for that student.
 The price per unit for each test is based on a test-taker volume of approximately 10 percent of the 2013
test-taker volumes.
 As required by law in AB 484, each LEA that wants to purchase a suspended test must enter into a contract
with ETS and must pay a one-time setup fee of $630. “Purchasing a test” means that the LEA will be
provided a username and password to access the secure Test Operations and Management System (TOMS)
Web application specifically for ordering purchasables, where the LEA can order printed test booklets and
DFAs from ETS. The price of each test booklet order will include the matching nonscorable answer
document and other ancillary materials that the LEA may need in order to administer the test (e.g., rulers).
The per unit cost for the test booklets are listed in the preceding pages. Answer documents and ancillary
material must be ordered through the TOMS system (they are not automatically included in the test
booklet order). Materials will be packaged and delivered to the LEA that will be responsible for
distributing the materials among its schools.
 In addition, the LEA will have access to the PDF for each CAASPP legacy test available for
purchase, if available. At this time, the ELA tests will not be available in PDF form for download.
The ELA tests will only be available in printed form. The LEA will also have access to PDFs of the
supporting test materials such as the nonscannable answer documents, DFAs, and score keys. There is no
additional cost for accessing the PDFs. The LEA may print the PDFs at its own expense.
 None of the STS for Non-ELs in Dual-Immersion Programs is available as a PDF.
 It is assumed that the LEA will be responsible for scheduling the administration of the purchased tests in
spring 2015 through the end of the 2014–15 school year.
 The secure Web site will be available in March, 2015, and will close on June 30, 2015. Printed materials
will ship to LEAs beginning March 2, 2015, or within 10 business days of receipt of the order, whichever is
later. PDFs of the supporting materials will be available beginning March 2, 2015. Not all test booklets will
be available in PDF if some author permissions are not granted.
 Directions to administer the legacy tests will be included in the DFAs.
 Neither the legacy tests nor the STS for Non-ELs in Dual-Immersion Programs are considered released
tests; these contain secure and copyrighted materials. It is assumed that the LEA will maintain the
appropriate level of security. All material must be securely destroyed following the test administration.
 The answer documents provided are nonscannable and will include only the answer sections available. For
example, the CST grade 10 answer document will include answer sections for ELA, end-of-course
mathematics, end-of-course science, and end-of-course history-social studies. It will not include an answer
section for the Grade 10 Life Science test. The LEA may use other scannable answer documents if desired.
 The LEA will be responsible for scoring the tests and disseminating the test results appropriately for its
own use. The score keys will be made available to the LEA as PDFs on the secure Web site. The test results
may not be shared with the CDE or ETS.
 Requests and fees for special packaging and shipping or for scoring and reporting by ETS will be
negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
