The following graphs compare Frequency Response and Return Loss performance before and after surge is applied. Frequency Response Forward Gain 15 + 0.5 dB Reverse Loss -0.9 + 0.5 dB Before Surge After Surge Return Loss >22 dB All Ports Before Surge After Surge Reference PA-IPA1000 Features-27C08-05 Ph: 732-446-2626 • Fx: 732-446-2717 • Web: www.extreme-broadband.com Page 2 of 4 PRODUCT APPLICATION Infinity Premise™ System Designers And Manufacturers of Unique Broadband Products Model IPA1000 Series Features Patented Bonding System An Anvil-type ground bonding fastener is superior to a blunt screw because the screw will gouge and deform the copper wire. Greater pressure can be maintained at the bonding interface with an anvil as shown here. The unique ground plates prevent ground wire damage when tightened. Ground plates provide maximum ground wire surface contact Patented Direct Connect FIC Port The FIC port reduces the number of connections when amplifiers and splitters are connected together. This increases the reliability of the total installation. The FIC port has been carefully designed to maintain EMI and environmental shielding. The maximum torque exceeds the SCTE recommendation by 50%. Direct connect FIC Port interfaces without a jumper when using traditional splitters Patent Pending Passive Data Port A Blue port indicates a Passive Data Port for use exclusively by the Cable or VoIP modem. It is the first port in line with the input before amplification. Since it is passive, it is not affected by a power outage. Note power passing splitters are available in standard 2, 3, and 4 way horizontal splitter housings and Unique direct connect Splitter Modules as shown. The red line on the label shows direction of the power-passing port. Shown with remote powering Patented Modem Module with Direct Connect FIC Port Any of the standard IPA1000 Amplifiers can be upgraded to Passive Modem Service using a Modem Module as shown. Modem tap values of 3.5, 6, and 9 dB are available as well as a dual modem module with two passive modem ports. Reverse Gain Module When reverse gain is needed, it is possible to upgrade the installation to overcome excessive loss launching to the reverse plant by adding a Reverse Gain Module like the IPARM. It provides 10dB of high-output gain capability. Reference PA-IPA1000 Features-27C08-05 Ph: 732-446-2626 • Fx: 732-446-2717 • Web: www.extreme-broadband.com Page 4 of 4
