A wide range of electronic helpers are leading the way. Automatic seat and mirror settings or ­multiple-zone air-conditioning systems that can be set individually for each passenger are just a few examples. For all of these systems EPCOS offers not only standard components, but also application-specific solutions, which are developed together with our customers. A typical example is the new evaporator sensor for air-conditioning systems. For this sensor we use glass-encapsulated NTC elements protected by a special coating for improved humidity resistance. As a result these ­sensors are able to withstand a 10000 hours in water at 80 °C. They are not only highly reliable, with response times of below 4 seconds in the air stream they are a ­ lso extremely fast.
