EIGHTY-THIRD ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMERI CAN ASSOCIATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH, INC. The regular scientific sessions of the 83rd Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, Inc., will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, from Wednesday, May 20, 1992, through Saturday, May 23, 1992. The tentative schedule of events calls for the scientific sessions to begin at 8:00 a.m. on May 20 and to conclude on the afternoon of May 23 with several methods workshops. It is hoped that the scheduling of sessions through Saturday afternoon will enable registrants to take advantage of special airfares. Please note that the AACR meeting will follow that of the American Society of Clinical Oncology which is to be held May 17-19, 1992, in the San Diego Center. AACR members and interested nonmembers are encouraged to register in advance of the meeting. During the Fall of 1991, forms for this purpose were mailed to all AACR members as well as to nonmem bers who have attended previous AACR meetings. Forms were also published in the November 15, 1991, through the March 15, 1992, issues of Cancer Research. Additional forms may be obtained by writing to the office of the American Association for Cancer Research. On-site registration will be conducted in San Diego, beginning on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19, 1992, and will continue throughout the meeting. The deadline for submitting abstracts for presentation at the meeting was December 6, 1991. Abstracts submitted in conformity with regu lations and accepted by the Program Committee for presentation at the annual meeting will be published in the 1992 Proceedings of the Amer ican Association for Cancer Research. Subscribers to the journal Cancer Research will receive a copy of the Proceedings in April. Additional copies will be available at the meeting at a cost of $25.00. Forms for the AACR Employment Register were mailed to members in the Fall and also appeared in the November 15, December 1, December 15, and January 1 issues of Cancer Research. Registered employers and candidates will be able to place listings in the Proceedings and in two issues of Cancer Research. The Association will schedule appointments for employers and candidates during the annual meeting upon request. To ensure full participation in the Employment Register, forms should have been submitted to the Association Office by January 27, 1992. Errata An error has been discovered in the article by Husain et al., entitled "Role of Ultraviolet Radiation in the Induction of Melanocytic Tumors in Hairless Mice following 7,12-Dimethylbenz(a)anthracene Application and Ultraviolet Irradiation." which appeared in the September 15, 1991 issue of Cancer Research (pp. 4964-4970). The authors have found that the photograph shown in Figure Iß(p. 4966) is incorrect. The photograph is of a mouse treated with DMBA and TPA, not a mouse treated with DMBA and UVB as stated in the legend. While the results from the DMBA + TPA treatment of the mouse may appear very similar to results from DMBA + UVR treatments, it should be emphasized that histologie and point mutation studies in the ras gene are of mice treated with DMBA. UVB, and UVA radiation. The correct Figure \B is the one shown below. Fig. I, B, mice treated with DMBA and I'VR. showing multiple pigmented lesions and a few papillomas. The nevi were 3-5 mm in diameter, and the larger ones were elevated. There is also an error in the letter to the editor by S. J. Garte (Correspondence re: R. Grundel and H. Rubin. Effect of Interclonal Heterogeneity on the Progressive, Confluence-mediated Acquisition of the Focus-forming Phenotype in NIH-3T3 Populations. Cancer Res.. 51: 1003-1013, 1991) in the February 15, 1992 issue of Cancer Research (pp. 1047-1050). The equation which appears in Footnote a of Table 1 on p. 1048 should have appeared as A/ —¿ A/ J'ii —¿ Plu 2369
