KEY TEAM MEMBERS
Gannett Fleming is qualified to perform all types of design and construction
services for power delivery systems, including transmission lines, substations, and
distribution systems. Our qualifications are realized through our team leaders,
who have experience not only working with power and utility entities, but also for
them. Our power professionals consistently execute and provide deliverables that
are compatible with the standard of excellence and quality a utility expects.
George R. Campanella, PE, LEED® AP, is vice president of the Power Market
sector. He is responsible for managing office operations; staffing; and business
development, marketing, and quality assurance efforts. George has more than 25
years of industry experience, and prior to joining Gannett Fleming, served 10 years
with Atlantic Electric. He often serves as project principal, providing management
and technical oversight and ensuring the proper resources are allocated throughout
the duration of a project.
Roger Giles, PhD, MBA, BSEE, supports the day-to-day growth and management
of Gannett Fleming’s power and utility business line, including substation,
transmission, and distribution services. He oversees engineering design projects,
often incorporating the firm’s electrical, structural, and civil services to bring
projects to a successful completion. As manager of power services, he is accountable
for financial performance, quality standards, and project delivery, working to
maintain a high level of customer service. Also a lead electrical engineer, Roger
relies on more than 15 years of qualitative knowledge and experience managing
multiple projects through the entire life cycle.

As manager of transmission engineering, Alexander de los Santos focuses
on clients’ design criteria and standards to meet demands and deliver quality.
His experience includes field surveys, project management and oversight, and
engineering of overhead power systems with a focus on transmission structures.
His electrical calculations for transmission lines range from 69 kV to 345 kV, and
he applies the latest technology tools for transmission line design and analysis,
including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and SAG 10. Prior to joining Gannett Fleming,
he managed significant transmission design projects from the western U.S. to the
Dominican Republic.
Alan D. Guerriero, PE, is a manager of substation engineering with 31 years of
experience. He is responsible for the management and quality control of substation
projects for electric utilities and private entities. He is familiar with all types of
power generation, power delivery, and power distribution systems and equipment,
as well as associated control systems. Alan’s experience encompasses all aspects of
electrical power systems engineering and design, including construction support,
on-site construction supervision and management, and start-up support.

Craig W. Veprek, PE, PP, PMP, is our program manager of power and utilities.
His environmental, land use, and construction regulatory experience includes
project management; regulatory analysis and policy development; environmental
auditing; and licensing and permitting negotiation. Craig has more than 40 years
of professional experience working for and with utility companies and is extremely
knowledgeable of substation, transmission, and distribution services and design.
Prior to Gannett Fleming, he worked as a senior engineer and project lead
at Jersey Central Power & Light Company and also held several positions,
from project licensing engineer to project manager, at Public Service Electric
and Gas Company.

POWER DELIVERY
Demand for power is increasing, but the infrastructure to
deliver it is declining. At Gannett Fleming, we specialize in
designing and supporting the rehabilitation and replacement
of aging infrastructure to meet the industry’s most
challenging and complex problems. We also understand the
importance of adding new infrastructure as the need for
power grows.
At the core of our services is power engineering for substations
and transmission and distribution systems. Annually, we deliver
approximately 40 medium- to high-voltage projects for a wide
range of clients. We have thorough knowledge of substations,
transmission lines, and distribution systems. Our experience
includes all phases of high-, medium-, and low-voltage power
distribution systems. We also have experience with storm
hardening of power delivery systems.

contractors to provide complete engineering, procurement, and
construction management or design-build services.

Substations
Substations are a critical component of the power distribution system.
Gannett Fleming understands the measures required to improve this
infrastructure, as we have an extensive history of providing full design,
upgrade, and expansion services to substations for a number of clients.
We also have provided construction services for substation upgrades,

Transmission
Gannett Fleming has a thorough understanding of the technical and regulatory

GENERATION
Renewable technologies are critical to generating alternative power
sources. Gannett Fleming is an industry veteran, investing years working

Solar
Gannett Fleming is on the leading edge of the solar industry. We are
working on two of the largest “mega-scale” solar projects in the U.S. today, and
we keep current with state and federal guidelines for developing renewable

Hydropower
With the demand increasing for renewable energy, hydropower is becoming
more important in our energy portfolio. This demand creates the opportunity
for new hydropower infrastructure and increases the need to extend the life of
aging infrastructure to maintain safety, regulatory compliance, and increase
efficiencies. We respond to a wide range of water resource needs for our clients,
including hydropower, watershed management, water supply, navigation, flood
control, and recreation.
Gannett Fleming provides expertise in the planning, permitting, design, and
construction of hydropower dams, as well as dam safety engineering and
security services for hydropower facilities. We have designed more than 100
new dams, modified more than 250 dams, and evaluated the safety of more than
500 dams. Many of our engineers have worked in the power industry or for
regulating agencies and can provide a unique and valuable perspective for our

ANCILLARY SERVICES

Construction Services
Gannett Fleming offers a wide range of construction services for power utility
projects, including onsite construction management, inspection services, and
full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services. We have more
than 200 construction management and inspection professionals on staff who are
responsible for maintaining a project’s safety, schedule, and budget. Our project/
construction management services also include scheduling and cost estimating.
Valuation and Rate
Management responsibility, utility regulation, income tax preparation, and
property valuations require estimates of annual depreciation accrual rates and
accrued depreciation. We have a complete working knowledge of depreciation
methods, procedures, and techniques that reduce the risk of incomplete capital
recovery. Our valuation and rate services include:

claims and annual depreciation expense claims in customer rate filings
