WORKSHOP
A one day workshop on „MATLAB‟ was conducted on 11th September 20 13
by Mr.K.Madhukiran, coreEL Technologies, Bangalore.
The three days workshop on „Embedded Systems‟ was conducted on 24, 25 and 26th of
Sep 2013 by Mr. Gurjit singh, Gill instrument, Bangalore.
GUEST LECTURES
A one day guest lecture on „Embedded System Design Using SOC (MSP 430)‟ was
conducted on 26th July 2013 and was delivered by Mr. Gurjit singh, Gill instrument,
Bangalore.
A one day guest lecture on „Embedded Networking‟ was conducted on 17th March
2014and was delivered by Mr.K.Tamilarasan, NAMUS Embedded Resources and Erode.
SYMPOSIUM
A National Level Technical Symposium was organized on 22nd March

Mrs.M.Poonguzhali Head & Associate professor of ECE department has presented a
paper titled COOPERATIVE SPECTURM SHARING PROTOCOL WITH
SELECTIVE RELAYING SYSTEM IN COGNITVE RADIO NETWORK in the
National conference conducted by Department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology during 4-5 october 2013 and the
paper is accepted in “i-manager journal of wireless communication and network” which
is accepted and in press.
Mrs.M.Poonguzhali Head & Associate professor of ECE department has presented a
paper titled A NOVEL EFFICIENT SPECTRUM SHARING PROTOCOL IN
COGNITIVE RADIO NETWORK in the International Conference on Simulations in
Computing in Computer Nexus by Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology during 20-21 March 2014 and the
paper is published in IRNET journal.
Mr.G.Dheepak associate professor of ECE department has presented a paper titled
LUNG CANCER DETECTION BY USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK
AND FUZZY CLUSTERING METHODS in the National conference conducted by
Chendu College of Engineering and Technology, Kanchipuram on Feb 28th 2014.
Mr.G.Dheepak associate professor of ECE department has presented a paper titled
AUTOMATIC ASSESSMENT OF MACULAR EDEMA FROM COLOR
RETINAL IMAGES in the 6th National conference on Electronics, VLSI, Embedded
systems, Networking, Telecommunication and signal processing conducted by Velalar
College of Engineering and technology held on 15th march 2014.
Mr. S. Premkumar assistant professor of ECE department has presented a paper on
RFID based automatic ration system in the International conference on Futuristic trends
in Electronics Engineering (ICFTEE 2014) at Thiruvalluvar College of Engineering and

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
WORKSHOP
A one day workshop on „Ethical Hacking‟ was conducted on 19th June 2013 by Mr. G.
Santhosh Kumar, Security Analyst at Information Security Research Organization.
A two days workshop on “Essentials of PHP” for the final year students was conducted
on 26th and 27th Aug 2013 by Mr. Satheesh Kumar.P from Blaze3 Solutions.
The two day workshop on “Android App Development” was conducted on 27th and 28th
Jan 2014 by Mr.Kapil Mehta and Mr.Rohit Jain, Research Engineers,Robo Sapiens Ltd in
association with IIT,New Delhi. At the end of workshop, a simple task of preparing Toast
Message app was given individually. And the top three teams from our college, who
completed the given task in short time, were awarded as Zonal Winners and honoured to
attend the Final Event that was held at IIT Delhi on Feb 26th to March 1st 2014.
GUEST LECTURE
A half day guest lecture on „Theory of Computation‟ was conducted on 31st August
2013 and was delivered by Mrs.D.Lakshmi, Associate Professor from Adithya Institute
of Technology, Coimbatore.
SYMPOSIUM
Srishti‟14, A National Level Technical Symposium was organized on 18th March, 2014.
Our special guests were Dr. R S D Wahidabanu, Principal, Government College of
Engineering, Salem, Mr.G Ramesh, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Take
Solutions and Mr. R Praveen, Head, Talent Acquisition, Take Solutions. We witnessed
more than 300 students from various popular educational institutions in and around the
State.

STUDENT ACHIVEMENTS
Iswarya Ganesan, M.Niranjan Bharatwaj and R.Sundharesan of IV year CSE and
S.Manikandan of III year CSE were participated in National wide Techunt 2013. And
also S.Manikandan received a special trophy for “Innovative Idea of the Year”.
Iswarya Ganesan and R.Ramya of IV year CSE students got the prestigious award of
“Highest
Committed Student Branch Activist Award” for the year 2013. This
award is being given on behalf of “Computer Society of India (CSI)”, on its 48th
Annual Ceremony held at Visakhapatanam. And they were one of the 17 students who
were selected National wide for the year 2013.
IIT, Delhi and Robosapiens Pvt. Ltd. Jointly conducted Robotryst 2014 – a national level
android application development competition. A team of 10 students from our college

Coimbatore.
INTERCOLLEGE TECHNICAL EVENT
A one day Intercollege Technical Event on “EVEPRO‟14” was conducted on MARCH
8th, 2014 by Vice Chairman Mr.G.Prabakaran and Principal Mr.G.Venkatesan of
Narasu‟s Sarathy Institute of Technology.In this occassion more than 323 under
graudation students had participated.
SYMPOSIUM
Srishti‟14, A National Level Technical Symposium was organized on 18th March, 2014.
Our special guests were Dr. R S D Wahidabanu, Principal, Government College of
Engineering, Salem, Mr.G Ramesh, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Take
Solutions and Mr. R Praveen, Head, Talent Acquisition, Take Solutions. We witnessed
more than 300 students from various popular educational institutions in and around the
