I think of the many happy children I saw during my recent visit to Asia , but also of the countless children throughout our world who are living in poverty and need. A society can be judged by the way it treats its children. Within our families, children remind us that from our earliest years we are dependent on others. We see this in Jesus himself, who was born a child in Bethlehem. Children also remind us that we are always sons and daughters; rather than being in complete control of our lives, we never cease being radically dependent on others. They challenge us to see things with a simple, pure and trusting heart, to receive and to offer warmth and “tenderness”, and to laugh and cry freely in response to the world around us. Jesus urges us to become like children, since God's Kingdom belongs to such as these (cf. Mt 18:3). Let us welcome and treasure our children, who bring so much life, joy and hope to the world. How sad and bleak would our world be without them! PRINCIPAL MESSAGE “Positive choices and attitudes contribute to success. Negative ideas and behaviors lead to failure.” Hope all is well with you. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again for your kind cooperation in working out and implementing all the instruction and ideas to improve the academic performance of our students. My special thanks for the editorial members who are helping to bring this newsletter in a colorful manner. The newsletter will continue to be a vehicle for promoting fluent communication among all faculty members and the students in all subject areas. contributions Consistent and essays with the on new revised format teaching and content, methodologies, new technologies, and new research challenges are highly encouraged. Similarly, all the members are encouraged to contribute news and announcements. As we all are aware that we are at the fare end of the semester and looking forward for the university examination. I would like to advise all the teaching faculties and the students to take up the coaching classes serious and work hard to get success. Keep the word Hard Work as a keyword in your life. Hard work is important for success rather than intelligence. All intelligent do not succeed in their life and all who succeed in their life need not be an intelligent. Hard work with dedication and involvement is the secret of the successful people. "I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." - Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) Dr. A. BALAJI PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATOR MESSAGE DEAR READERS, When you set goals for yourself, it is important that they motivate you: this means making sure that they are important to you, and that there is value in achieving them. If you have little interest in the outcome, or they are irrelevant given the larger picture, then the chances of you putting in the work to make them happen are slim. Motivation is key to achieving goals. Set goals that relate to the high priorities in your life. Without this type of focus, you can end up with far too many goals, leaving you too little time to devote to each one. Goal achievement requires commitment, so to maximize the likelihood of success, you need to feel a sense of urgency and have an "I must do this" attitude. When you don't have this, your risk putting off what you need to do to make the goal a reality. This in turn leaves you feeling disappointed and frustrated with yourself, both of which are de-motivating. And you can end up in a very destructive "I can't do anything or be successful at anything" frame of mind. Remember, goal setting is an ongoing activity not just a means to an end. Build in reminders to keep yourself on track, and make regular time-slots available to review your goals. Your end destination may remain quite similar over the long term, but the action plan you set for yourself along the way can change significantly. Make sure the relevance, value, and necessity remain high. So my dear students have a higher goal in your life and be happy always. Survey camp was conducted for IIIrd year students of Civil Engineering Department as a part of curriculum of 6th semester practical. 2. Surveying is the art of measuring the horizontal & vertical distance; it’s also used to determine the relative positions of different objects on the surface of the earth. 3. Survey camp provides necessary foundation for civil engineer. 4. During the camp the students will gain more knowledge on how to survey & level the surface. 5. From the camp, the students have a clear idea on laying roads on plains and hills, air port runways & railway tracks, etc 6. They can also plan for construction of hydraulic structures like Dams, Bridges, Culverts, Tunnels , etc 7. We can measure the height & calculate the area even in the inaccessible area of surface of the earth. 8. Laying the curves in the roads or any transportation structures is important. Safe curves setting out are tried. 9. Surveying is done mainly for leveling the surface, so for the building construction before starting construction the land need to be leveled. 10. Basic aim of the survey camp is to determine the topography of particular area, map study and reconnaissance work.
