PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MINUTES June 10, 2015 In attendance were: Dennis Tobin, Karen Scott, Melva Cummings 1. The Committee recommends that the Board approve the resignation of Brittany Schweers, effective 6/24/15, Sparta Middle School 2. The Committee recommends that the Board approve the unpaid medical leave of absence (FMLA) for Joanne O’Neill 5/24/15‐6/24/15 3. The Committee recommends the reassignment of Geri Anglum from Special Education Teacher at the Alpine School to Elementary Teacher at the Alpine School, effective for the 2015‐2016 school year. 4. The Committee recommends the transfer of Bonnie Loverich from 50% Instructional Intervention Teacher at the Sparta Middle school and 50% Instructional Intervention Teacher at the MAS to 100% Instructional Intervention Teacher at the SMS. 5. The Committee recommends the Re‐appointment of Diane Sim, Hallway Aide at the Alpine School for the 2015‐2016 school year. 6. The Committee recommends the following appointments, effective 9/1/15‐6/30/16, (salaries to be adjusted upon contract negotiations): a. Matthew Martinka, Elementary Teacher, Helen Morgan School, BA, Step 1, $53,933 b. Katheryne Szatkiewicz, LOA Replacement, Elementary Teacher, Helen Morgan School, $53,933 c. Stephanie Veldran, Special Education Teacher, Helen Morgan School, MA, Step 6, $65,418 7. The Committee recommends the approval of Kenneth Raffino, Substitute Custodian for the 2015‐2016 school year 8. The Committee recommends that the Board approve Keith Meyer from Ramapo College as a Student Teacher for Fall, 2015 9. The Committee recommends that the Board approve Rosemary Bayliss for summer Curriculum Writing at the budged rate of $30/hour. 10. The Committee recommends payment to Christine Aloisio, Nurse, and Heather Yanoff, Guidance Counselor for Kindergarten Orientation on August 25, 2015 to be paid based on their contractual agreement. 11. The Committee recommends the assignment of Rory Fitzgerald as High School Vice Principal 12. The Committee recommends that the Board approve Andrew Bayliss and Ashley Markovic, Sparta High School staff members, to be Homebound Instructors from June 24‐August 1, 2015. 13. The Committee recommends that the Board approve the additional appointments for the following Extended School Year Program beginning July 1 through August 7, 2015: a. Special Education Assistants to be paid upon submission of timesheets 8:15‐12:45 b. Melissa Masucci to be paid an hourly rate, Differential Pay $1.50, 4.5 hours 14. The Committee recommends that the Board approve the following teachers who will be needed in attendance at IEP meetings with parents during the summer on a limited basis. Pay is $35.00 per hour (per the Teachers’ Contract) upon submission of timesheets. Effective June 25, 2015‐August 31, 2015: a. Patricia Auger b. Donna Collinson c. David Gorecki d. Thomas Orosz e. The Committee recommends Dorothy Talty, Substitute Teacher, to be paid Substitute Teacher Rate per pay hour upon submission of timesheets for 5 hours. 16. The Committee recommends that the Board approve the following teachers to provide IEP mandated home instruction for Special Education students during the extended school year. They will be paid upon submission of timesheets at a rate of $45 per hour (to be adjusted upon contract negotiations): a. Frank Battaglia b. Gerald Carter c. Diane Harris d. Tina Johnson e.
