Plans call for stringing three miles of advanced fiber optic cable, from the Idea Center in Play-House Square to Case Western Reserve University in University Circle, along utility poles owned by Cleveland Public Power. No streets will be dug up for the project, said Lev Gonick, the chief executive of OneCommunity, a nonprofit broadband Internet provider that is leading the project. OneCommunity is partnering with the city, which will contribute $200,000 toward the effort.
