MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
Up/Down Operation
Mechanical/Framework
Electrical
On the hand held control switch, simply push the up
or down button (↑ or ↓) to raise or lower the bed.
There is very little mechanical maintenance required,
just occasionally lightly oil the guides and plastic
inserts to keep the movement smooth and free.
Either oil or silicone spray can be used.
The electrical components are sealed and have no
user serviceable parts. Any problems should be
reported to Amtech Medical in the first instance as
unauthorised attempts to carry out repairs will break
the seal and may void the warranty. It is advised that
an electrician or electrical service technician holding a
current practicing license carry
out the electrical safety check as recommended by
the Electrical Workers Registration Board and OSH
every 12 months.
Fold Away Table Top
The unit is designed for the padded top and frame to
be folded away upright when not in use.
To raise the top, gently lift the padded top to upright
position. It will remain in this position (held by a gas
strut) until lowering is required.
To lower, simply pull down gently until top comes to
rest at correct position.
The bolts and nuts holding the table together are
locked but an occasional check should be prudent.
Cleaning
The padded top and frame of the table should be
kept clean from soap build up and other deposits,
warn soapy water is adequate for this. DO NOT use
harsh abrasives or strong acid or alkaline cleaners.
The Linak Actuator System can be cleaned with brush
and low water pressure cold water in the retracted
static position only ie, not moving.
ELECTRICAL
SAFETY
The Linak Actuator Systems are built and supplied
to International Safety Electrical Ratings known as
“International Protection” (IP).
Full Linak technical information is available from
Amtech Medical directly upon request. Detailed

Linak’s test procedures.

BATTERY RECHARGING
Operation and Care
(This option, only if fitted)
The Linak battery system operates at a nominal
24VDc to reduce any risk of electrical discharge to
the operator or patient. An emergency stop button is
fitted to the battery system.
The battery is mounted at the bottom of the main
frame and is a split unit allowing the battery to be
removed for recharging.
The charger can be set in another room and the
battery taken to it, the battery should ideally be
charged every 24 hours, this will extend the battery
life. It is important that the battery is not fully
discharged at any time.
To remove or replace the battery to the table is best
done with the mattress in the folded up position.
The battery is designed to simply snap into the
mounting bracket and is easily released by pulling
on the handle on the battery pack towards you.
Use both hands to support the battery pack when
removing or replacing it.
The wall charger has a light to show the power is
connected (turned on) and a second light to show
it is charging the battery. When the battery is fully
charged, the second light goes out.
The control box on the bed does not have any
lights to indicate battery condition.
