40 industries bring jobs,
taxes to fuel local economy
Some 40 industries provide employment for around
2,500 Fitzgerald and Ben Hill
County residents as well as
tax revenue for county and
city government services.
Employees who spend their
salaries on goods and services locally also help drive the
community’s economy.
Food products, machinery,
cargo trailers, building products, mobile home parts, steel
fabrications and wood and
eco-friendly
firelogs
are
among the many products
manufactured here. These
industries are supported
locally by transportation,
communication and utility
services among others.

Gray
Museum, housed in the rehabilitated railroad depot, is open
Tuesday-Friday, from 10 a.m.4 p.m., and Sunday from 1-5

The museum celebrates the
story of Fitzgerald’s founding
by Union and Confederate Civil
War veterans in 1895.
