DESCRIPTION
MELODIUM CASEMENT:
Hybrid casement window (PVC inside and extruded aluminum outside) opening towards outside. This window is
usually used in residential buildings, residence and condominium.
MELODIUM AWNING:
Hybrid awning window (PVC inside and extruded aluminum outside) opening towards outside. This window is usually
used in residential buildings, residence and condominium.
FEATURES
• Monocoque hybrid frame (modular for awning window) of 127 mm [5"]. The interior is out of PVC, welded at the four
corners by a thermofusion process. Extruded aluminum outside with a 1.3 mm thickness [1/16"] assembled
mechanically. Aluminium is retained to PVC by a pressure interlocking system in continuous grooves on the
extrusions, to allow the thermal movement.
• A contemporary style sash, opening towards the outside which allows the washing of the surface of external glass
from the interior. The interior is out of PVC, welded at the four corners by a thermofusion process and extruded
aluminum with a thickness of 1.3mm [1/16"] on the exterior side.
• A sash and a mullion of thinner appearance in order to have an increase solar heat gain.
• Three weather strip system:
- Perimeter of the sash: brush type to high density out of polypropylene fibres treated with silicone and
resistant to UV radiation.
- Interior perimeter of the sash: bubble type white coextruded out of flexible PVC.
- Interior frame: white plate type coextruded out of flexible PVC.
• Options, moulding in aluminum extrusion.
• Jamb extension in natural pine or covered out of PVC.
• External coatings available in several colors.
• TRUTH Mechanism (white color).
Awning and casement window: ENCORE model.
• Multipoint lock, TRUTH.
• 10" TRUTH hinges which get a release sufficient for the washing of the surface of external glass from the interior.
MATERIALS
Chloride polyvinyl (PVC) conforms to the standard ONGC 41-GP-19Ma and 41-GP-20M
Alloy of aluminum 6063-T5 thickness of 1.3 mm [1/16"]
TRUTH hardware (locks and crank gear) out of dichromate zinc
Stainless steel hinges rail (300 series), hinges arm made of steel coated with the E-GARD protection, ‘’Delrin’’
shoes with stainless steel reinforcement and brass pivot.
GLAZING
Double glazed sealed unit composed of two simple glasses 3 mm (1/8") with a space of air (or argon) of 16 mm (5/8")
for an overall thickness of 22mm (7/8’’) Possibility to use standard or high performance sea-led glass according to the
standards of the manufacturer. In conformity with the CAN/CGSB 12.8-M97 standards.
SCREEN
White enamelled frame assembled with PVC corner. Anti-reflecting black fibreglass screen with of 18 X 16 mesh per
square inch. In conformity with the ONGC 79-GP-1M standards.
FINISH
Cooked acrylic enamel painted aluminum extrusions on the outside offered in several colors, interior is white 141 gloss
PVC.
PERFORMANCES
The windows are manufactured in accordance with the standard SCA A440-00 and according to following
classifications:
• Air tightness A-3
• Water tightness B-7
• Resistance to the overloads due to the wind C-5
• Resistance to the infraction F-2
INSTALLATION
All window units will have to be installed of balance and level, and to be fixed in the opening without forcing them nor
to charge them of any way.The installation of the windows will have to conform to the standard SCA A440.4 “Window
and Door Installation”.
