A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MARION COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING FEE SCHEDULES FOR CONSTRUCTION
PERMITS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Marion County, Florida is
authorized to establish fees pursuant to Marion County Ordinance No. 01-34; and
WHEREAS, the Board desires by this Resolution to amend fees for the administration and
enforcement of said Ordinance.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Marion
County, Florida:
SECTION 1. MINIMUM FEES AND REQUIRED DEPOSITS. Thereshall be a
minimum permit feeof$430.00fornewresidential andcommercial projects. Minimum feesforpermits
withoneinspection andnoplanreview shall be $63.00 andpermit withone inspection and a planreview
shall be $106.00. Allpermit applications mustinclude a deposit (non-refundable) which will be credited to
the costofthepermit, Deposit fees shall be $200.00 fornewcommercial permits, $100.00 for new
residential permits and$50.00 forallotherpermits,

DBPR: 1.5 Percent ofall base building permit fees - $2.00 minimum
(DBPR: Department of Business & Professional Regulation - Florida Statute468.631)
lB. WORKING WImOUT A PERMIT PENALTY FEE: Work started on a
building structure, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system before obtaining the necessary
permits shall be subject to a penalty of 100% of the usual fee in addition to the required permit
fees (Section 109.4 Florida Building Code 5th Edition). Permits must be posted on the jobsite
during the progress of all work.
SECTION 2. CONSTRUCTION PERMIT FEES. Permit fees for newconstruction projects
shall be calculated based uponthetotal square footage underroofapplicable to construction, plusa base fee.
Each 'PermitType' hasa standard inspection loadwhichincludes the minimum inspections required by
code. Inspections added to the permit's standard inspection load shall be $25.00 each. Allotherfees shall
becharged as specifically listed herein to include anyadditional fees required bythe scopeof workfora
specific project
Defmitions:
REMODEL - the refurbishing, rebuilding or reconstruction of an
existing structure.
ADDITION - to build, construct or add square footage to an
existing structure (habitable or non-habitable)
LOW VOLTAGE ALARM SYSTEM - Burglar Alarm or Smoke
Detection Systems (Hard-wired systems require a permit)

SECTION 4. REPEAL. All resolution or parts thereof of Marion County in conflict with
the provisions herein contained are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby superseded and repealed.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This resolution shall take effect on upon adoption by
the board.
