Y OU TH ! 12 WEEK YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COME AND JOIN US ON AN EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY Calling all young people aged 17 – 25 and looking for a new opportunity to develop skills, gain qualifications in Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation (SIS20213) and Certificate II in Community Services (CHC20112), take part in team building activities, community project, gain employability skills and meet new friends. Young yeople can take part in our 12 week youth development program. 12 WEEK YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OUTCOMES ELIGIBILITY Through building their confidence and motivation, team members are encouraged to think about their future; this includes preparing a post program development plan. During the 12 weeks they: Young people aged 17-25: > Uncover hidden talents, build self-esteem > Assume some responsibly for tasks > Develop team working and communication skills > Gain awareness of their local community and how they can contribute to it > Other target groups, which are: people leaving care, young offenders, educational underachievers and the long term unemployed. QUALIFICATION OUTCOMES > Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation (SIS20213) > Certificate II in Community Services (CHC20112) > Gain nationally recognised qualifications FEES COURSE CONTENT $340 Young people join a team of up to 15 participants. A team typically compromises around 15 unemployed people aged between 17 and 25. EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES Throughout the program, team members: DATE > Spend a week away at a residential activity centre > Undertake a project based in their local community > Participate in a team challenge involving caring for others > Stage a team presentation, during which they recount their experiences > Excursions/trips/outdoor activities Pathway for full time education and volunteering. The qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprentice Pathway. Starts Monday 15 February 2016 LOCATION TAFE SA Regency Park Campus 12 WEEK PROGRAM OUTLINE Day 1: Meet new people. Week 1: Team building and personal development. Week 2: New experiences – short courses dealing with First Aid, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, and more. Weeks 3 – 6: Community project plus excursions and outdoor activities. Weeks 7-8 : Plan for the Future. Employability. Future study. Week 9: Residential/camp a week away. Weeks 10 – 11: Team challenge using you outdoor skills to help others. Week 12: Presentation celebration.
