National Certification Examination (NBCOT) Upon successful completion of the required courses, students will be awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant and will be eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Occupational Therapy Assistants. North Dakota requires licensure in order to practice once the graduate has passed the NBCOT certification examination. Graduates of the program are employed in the field of occupational therapy, a related field or have continued their education to an entry level masters degree in occupational therapy.
