We launched our mobile pantry program, reaching out to
neighbors in urban and rural communities where food assistance
was needed, but not readily available.
E
very year we report numbers: how many pounds of food we
distributed, how many volunteer hours we received, how
many programs depend on us to help them feed our
neighbors in need and so on. But behind each and every number
is a story - a face, a name, a person who is struggling - and these
stories are the reason we come to work every day.
Stories like young Blake’s, who would be going to bed hungry if it
wasn’t for the nearby Kids Cafe where he enjoys a hot meal every
weeknight.
Stories like Alice’s, a grandmother who doesn’t have to make the
tough decision about whether to warm up her home or eat dinner.
“I’m glad I don’t need to wear my coat inside,” says Alice, who,
without Totes of Hope™ - Seniors, would otherwise skip dinner
because she doesn’t have the money to pay for groceries and
heat this month.
Stories about families like Vikki’s, a young mother trying to heal from
cancer while caring for her aging father and coping with her
husband’s lowered wages, lost health insurance and possibly the
loss of their home. Thanks to a local pantry, finding food to keep
them nourished is one less thing they have to worry about. That
pantry relies on Food Bank of the Rockies to keep their shelves
stocked.
We surpassed the 100,000 hour mark with our volunteer
contributions, a number we never imagined possible only a few
years ago.
We enhanced online ordering and increased our purchased food
program for our agency partners, making it easier for them to
obtain needed food for their programs.
Our Nutrition Network continues to expand our Totes of Hope™ Children and Seniors programs, our After School Snacks program
and our Kids Cafe sites. This summer, we supplied a record 70 lunch
program sites. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to reach
more of our most vulnerable citizens than ever before!
We continue to work with the USDA, distributing emergency food to
our partner agencies, commodity boxes to seniors and food for
free and reduced school lunches throughout our service area.
We distributed a record 39.4 million pounds of food and essentials
last year, the equivalent of more than 84,000 meals each day. This
is only possible because of our generous community.
We are fortunate to have many contributors to our mission and
while we are unable to recognize them all in this report, we are truly
grateful for every dollar, every can, every gift-in -kind and every
volunteer hour received. Thank you so much for your kindness!
And Food Bank of the Rockies relies on you, our generous
contributors. Without your gifts of food, funds and time, we
couldn’t feed our neighbors so desperately struggling to make
ends meet. Your kindness makes it possible for Food Bank of the
Rockies and our partner agencies to turn a story of hunger and
heartache into one of hope!

Food Bank of the Rockies is only able to distribute tens of millions of
pounds of food and essentials each year thanks to contributions
from thousands of caring individuals and organizations who are
dedicated to helping us fight hunger.
We are excited to recognize a new group of long time contributors
who have shown tremendous dedication to the fight against
hunger, year after year. Food Bank of the Rockies' Million Meals
Club is an amazingly generous group of 53 supporters who have
contributed enough food and funds over the lifetime of their
relationship with FBR, to provide one million meals for our neighbors
