MSN 8200
3G ALE HF RADIO
PART OF THE AQUILON RANGE
MSN 8200
3G ALE HF Radio
The MSN 8200 is a versatile, programmable and configurable
radio for HF communication systems in all types of naval platforms
from submarines to aircraft carriers.
This latest radio from the Thales naval range is compatible with
3G Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) systems for faster & more
dependable linking in challenging HF conditions. It is also
retro-compatible with the MSN 8100 and TMR 6200 radios,
making it a simple and highly effective upgrade.
The MSN 8200 can be operated within an integrated naval
communications system offering voice, data, messaging and
e-mail services or independently as a standalone radio via the
control panel.
Optimised for use on naval platforms, the MSN 8200 radio
provides excellent performance in terms of sensitivity, intermodulation performance and reciprocal mixing for operation in
severe co-site environments. This can be further enhanced by the
addition of an optional built-in Pre-Post Selector (PPS).
The receiver and exciter functions are based on a common set of
modules plugged into a 4U chassis. As a result the MSN 8200
radio offers a range of configurations from a single receiver up to
a dual receiver-exciter. Full transceiver capability is achieved when
complemented by a power amplifier from the Thales naval range:
125 W (TMR 1096), 500 W (PA 8105) and 1 kW (PA 8109).
The MSN 8200 radio has been designed for a long in-service
life with comprehensive built-in-test (BIT) down to module level.
All modules can be quickly and easily removed and replaced for
ease of maintenance.
