PAYMENT OF FEES
All MSU billing statements will be sent electronically. An email is sent to the student’s murraystate.edu
account notifying the student that their statement is available for viewing. Students may view their statement
(eBill) through their myGate account under the Money Tab. An eBill is a real-time billing statement that is
fully integrated with the university’s student information system. The eBill on the Money Tab allows students
to view their most recent account activity, make payments on their current account balances, and/or view their
accounts or statements 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
If not paying the balance in full at the beginning of each semester, students are required to establish payment
arrangements while attending Murray State University. Payment arrangements must be made with the Bursar’s
Office.
Acceptable payment arrangements consist of the following:
* Payment in full of all tuition, fees, room and board for a given term
* Enrollment in the Murray State University Payment Plan (MSUPP) with required payments being completed
by
dates. Application is available through the student's myGate account. A $30 setup fee is required at the

time of enrollment. If a student enrolls in the MSUPP on their eBill due date the first installment and the $30
setup fee will be required at the time of enrollment.
Payments are due by noon on the due date shown on the billing statement. Failure to make installments by their
due dates could result in the loss of the student's schedule.
Acceptable forms of payments are:
*Online payments via the student's myGate account. Electronic checks (e-checks), Debit, and Credit Cards
(ONLY MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and VISA) are accepted online. If you choose to pay by
credit card, a 2.75% convenience fee or a minimum of $3 will be assessed to the transaction total.
*Mail a check, cashiers check, or money order made payable to Murray State University, Murray State
Univeristy 200 Sparks Hall, Murray KY 42071
* In person payments MUST be placed in the locked drop box located beside Sparks Hall (Checks, cashiers
checks, and money orders ONLY). We DO NOT accept cash.

RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES
Freshmen and sophomore students who are not exempt from housing regulations by virtue of age, military service, or other
approved exemptions must reside in university housing during the regular semesters. Anyone with fewer than 30 semester
hours earned is classified as a freshman. Anyone with at least 30 hours but fewer than 60 hours earned is classified as a
sophomore. Exemptions to this requirement must be obtained in writing and in advance of being notified of a housing
assignment. Undergraduates, with the exception of seniors, who qualify for and accept the Regional Tuition Discount
for out-of-state students are required to pay for university housing. All housing fees are applied to the student's account
and payment is due in full at the beginning of each semester, unless the student has enrolled in the Murray State University
Payment Plan. Housing questions should be directed to the Housing Office at (270) 809-2310.

MEAL PLANS
Freshmen and sophomore students living in the residential colleges must participate in a meal program.
Freshmen students are required to purchase the Unlimited Plan, while sophomore students must purchase one of
the Residential Plans. Junior and senior students may choose from any of the Residential or Commuter Plans.

RacerCard ID
The Murray State University RacerCard Identification (ID Card) fee of $20.00 is assessed once to all students
enrolled in main campus courses. Students enrolled in off-campus or online-only courses are not assessed an ID
fee unless specifically requested by the student. Scheduling courses and payment for all financial obligations
are necessary for appropriate ID activation each semester.
REFUND SCHEDULE
Withdrawal
A student who completes an official withdrawal, via their myGate or is dismissed within the first 25% of the
semester will receive a refund of tuition, fees, room and board in accordance with the calendar below.
Drop
A student dropping a class will receive a refund of tuition and/or course fee(s) if the student 1) drops below fulltime, 2) is part-time and drops a class, or 3) is full-time and drops a class with a refundable course fee.
Refunds will be in accordance with the schedule below:
