Since
1976IDEAS
CURRENT
In 1976, the company was founded by Bodo Ehmann the passionate technician, creative director, motivator and
problem solver. The company was converted into a GmbH
(German limited liability company) in 1979.
In close co-operation of development, design, tool making
and production, ideas and concepts are developed and
implemented on the highest level. Our customers’ requests
and value are always in the centre of our attention.
We are proud to point out that Bodo Ehmann not only
founded the company and gave it his name, but even today, after handing over the company to the second generation, accompanies it as a shareholder.
Our wide range of services, the short internal distances
and the advantages of our company location in Germany
enable us to be a one-stop shop – from designing a product to making it ready for serial production. And all that
“Made in Germany”.
What began with electronic special solutions for the electrical industry in the past has developed to a broad range of
products for industry, trade and commerce over the years.
Inventiveness, technical know-how, high quality standards
and continuity have made Bodo Ehmann GmbH one of
the most reputable German manufacturers in the field of
electrical engineering.
Both then and now, we have had one common purpose:
combining the manufacturing of high-quality products with
the demands of our customers as well as producing and
guaranteeing high and constant quality.

Also in the future, we not only want to secure Germany as
a location for business but we also want to develop the
site. We create jobs in the area and train the skilled workers ourselves. Good general conditions for pleasant and
purposeful working are just as important to us as amicable
co-operation. Only this way are we able to meet the requirements again and again and to ensure our high quality
standard also in the future.
Therefore, please make use of our products and services
as well. Contact us. We are looking forward to hearing
from you!

LUMEO DOMUS
Electronic dimmers – for each light the suitable dimmer
Electronic dimmers save energy, provide safety, are easy to use and are available
for almost all types of lamps and power categories.
• Made in Germany
• user-friendly handling
• energy-saving and environmentally friendly
• complies with the RoHS directive
• with leading- or trailing-edge phase control
Proven screw terminals
The classic screw terminals provide secure and tight fit to all types of
conductors. No matter if copper or aluminium conductors,
flexible or rigid (2 x 2.5 mm²) single wires, a tight hold is guaranteed.
Plug-in terminals guarantee quick installation
Of course, the dimmers are also available with plug-in terminals.
These terminals allow the quick and safe installation of supply
lines of up to 2 x 2.5 mm².
Metal spindle with fine notch of quality
All dimmers with pressure two-way switch feature a metal
spindle with fine notch of quality. This spindle guarantees
long-lasting and exact brightness adjustment.
6 mm spindle for special switch programmes
For special brand switch programmes, an adjustment
to the rotary button is required. For that purpose,
we offer you a special adapter to enlarge the metal
spindle up to 6 mm.

Integrated fine-wire fuse
For protection against overloads, the leading-edge dimmers feature a
replaceable fine-wire fuse.
The trailing-edge dimmers feature an integrated, electronic short-circuit
and overload protection. In case of an overload, the overload protection
temporarily puts the device out of operation for safety reasons.
When the device has cooled down, it is switched on again.
Radio interference suppression
All dimmers are radio interference suppressed in accordance with VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) 0875.
For that reason, it is no problem to operate them close to other electronic
devices without disturbing effects.
High power for great loads
For greater lighting units and loads with high power, the dimmers are
also available with up to 1,000 watt. Due to an additional cooling
element in the housing, these dimmers can also be used safely in all
areas.
Dimmers for energy saving bulbs
Dimming special energy saving bulbs like e.g. from Govena is
possible with both leading and trailing-edge dimmers.
Dimmers for fluorescent lamps
A fluorescent tube dimmers with leading-edge phase control has
been specifically developed for dimming fluorescent lamps with
electronic ballasts comfortably.
Intelligent solutions for versatile functions
As real solutions for problems concerning building
wiring installation and renovation, selected devices
feature intelligent functions.
For example two-circuit switch dimmers, pushbutton
staircase switches, automatic switches, relay-actuated switches etc. provide clever help.

LUMEO Dimmers
Environmental effects
The dimmer heats up during operation because, in the electronics, a small part of the connected load is converted into heat.
The nominal power specified applies if the dimmer is installed in a massive stone wall under corresponding ambient temperatures. If the dimmer is installed in a wall of aerated concrete, wood, gypsum plasterboard or a surface-type housing, the
maximum connected load specified for the dimmer must be reduced by at least 20%. This reduction is also necessary if several
dimmers are installed in a combination or if the device heats up due to other heat sources.
For operating the device with the specified maximum load, a sufficiently high temperature gradient must exist between the device and its environment. The load which can be connected depending on the ambient temperature is displayed in the diagram
below.

Energy and cost saving
If a dimmer is used, the connected lamps only receive the amount of power required for the desired brightness.
The triac or transistor circuit works like a switch operated with 100 Hz.
Only as long as the triac or transistor is switched on, power is actually being taken from the grid.
Reduced brightness = energy savings = cost reduction
The dimmer itself needs approx. <1 % of the lamp wattage for supplying the electronics. The service life of incandescent lamps,
230 V halogen lamps or low-voltage halogen lamps is increased if they are operated via a dimmer. The service life of a lamp is
twice as high if the supply voltage is reduced by as little as 5 %.
However, it is not sensible to use a dimmer solely for energy saving purposes. Since a strongly dimmed lamp is operated far
from its economically ideal operating level, it is better to use a lamp that matches the required light power on a permanent
basis. A lamp which is dimmed to its maximum and only glows slightly will not produce any usable light but still consume energy.
However, wherever the brightness of lamps is to be changed, the application of dimmers is indispensable and the saved energy
a positive side effect.

General Terms and Conditions
I.
General terms
1. The scope of deliveries and services (hereinafter referred to as „Deliveries“)
shall be determined by the written declarations made by both Parties. The
General Terms and Conditions of the Purchaser shall, however, apply only
if expressly accepted in writing by the supplier or the provider of services
(hereinafter referred to as „Supplier“).
2. The Supplier reserves any proprietary rights and copyrights to his price
quotations, drawings and other documents provided with an offer (hereinafter
referred to as „Documents“). The Documents shall not be made accessible
to any third party without the Supplier’s prior written consent and shall be
returned to him upon request without undue delay if the contract is not
awarded to the Supplier. The above shall apply respectively to documents
of the Purchaser. These may, however, be made accessible to third parties
rightfully charged with Deliveries by the Supplier.
3. The Purchaser shall have the non-exclusive right to use standard software,
provided that it remains unchanged, is used within the performance characteristics agreed upon by the parties and on the agreed equipment.
The Purchaser shall not make this software available or accessible for use by
a third party.
4. Partial deliveries shall be allowed insofar as they are not unreasonable for
the Purchaser.
II. Prices and Terms of Payment
1. The prices are in € and shall be ex works, excluding packaging, plus the
statutory turnover tax at the applicable rate. Packaging and shipping for
Deliveries within Germany shall be calculated based on the following:
1.00 € bis 150.00 € 10 % but with 7.50 € as a minimum rate
150.01 € bis 300.00 €
8%
300.01 € bis 500.00 €
5%
500.01 € bis 799.99 €
3%
2. Bulk orders with a net worth of 800 € or more shall be delivered free domicile
including packaging within Germany. We charge a processing fee of 25 €
for orders of less than 100 €.
3. Payments shall be made free Supplier‘s pay office
4. If the goods delivered are not accepted in full, the Supplier shall be entitled
to charge the price applicable to the batch size of the delivered part of
the order.
5. Invoices shall be payable within 30 days after the date of invoice without
deduction, a discount of 2% being granted for payments made within 10 days
after the date of invoice, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. For the
initial delivery, payment is to be effected before the production commences
or before goods in stock are delivered, as the case may be.
In case of late payment, the Supplier shall be entitled to charging default
interest in accordance with applicable laws. In case of payment in arrears,
the Supplier reserves the right to halt all further deliveries until payment has
been made. Payments made shall be credited to the oldest debt. Cheques
shall be accepted only under usual reserve. The day on which the Supplier
can dispose of the amount shall be deemed the date of performance for
payments of any kind.
The Purchaser may set off only undisputed claims or claims determined legally
valid against the Supplier‘s claims. The Purchaser may only assert his right
of retention if his counter-claim is based on the same contractual relationship.
6. The Supplier may demand payment in advance or the provision of securities
at any time if deemed necessary by the Supplier.
7.
The Supplier may withdraw from the contract and /or claim damages for
non-performance after a reasonable period of grace.
III. Retention of Title
1. Items which are part of the Deliveries („Retained Goods“) shall remain
the property of the Supplier until any claims the Supplier has against the
Purchaser in the context of the business relationship have been fulfilled
insofar as the Purchaser is an entrepreneur. If the combined value of the security interests of the Supplier exceeds the value of all secured claims by more
than 20 %, the Supplier shall release a corresponding part of the security
interest if so requested by the Purchaser. In the context of contracts with
consumers, the Supplier reserves the right to retain the title to the goods until
the purchase price has been paid in full.
44
www.ehmann-gmbh.de
2. For the duration of the retention of title, the Purchaser may not pledge the
Retained Goods or use them as security. Resale shall be possible only for
resellers in the ordinary course of their business and exclusively on the condition that the reseller receives payment from his customers or makes the
transfer of title to the goods to the customer subject to the customer‘s fulfilment
of his payment obligation.
The Purchaser herewith assigns to the Supplier any claims up to the invoiced
amount from the resale to a third party. The Supplier hereby accepts this
assignment. The Supplier shall be entitled to collect claims after assignment.
The Supplier reserves the right to collect claims himself upon the Purchaser‘s
non-fulfilment of his payment obligations and default of payment.
3. The Purchaser shall inform the Supplier immediately of any seizure, confiscation
or other disposition or intervention by a third party.
4. In case the Purchaser fails to fulfil his duties, particularly in the case of default of payment, the Supplier shall be entitled to terminate the contract and
to take back the Retained Goods after an appropriate grace period set by
the Supplier has passed without the Purchaser having fulfilled his obligations.
The statutory provisions that a grace period is not necessary remain unaffected. The Purchaser shall be obligated to surrender the Retained Goods.
IV. Time Limit for Deliveries and Delay
1. The observance of time limits set for Deliveries is subject to all Documents of
the Purchaser, necessary permits and releases, especially plans, being made
available in due time and to the Purchaser‘s fulfilment of all agreed terms of
payment and other obligations. If these conditions are not fulfilled in due time,
the time limits set shall be extended accordingly. This shall not apply if the
Supplier is responsible for the delay.
2. The time limit for delivery shall be deemed observed if the goods to be delivered have left the plant or if the Purchaser has been notified of the goods
being ready for shipment prior to or upon expiry of the time limit.
3. If non-observance of set time limits is due to force majeure such as mobilization, war, insurrection or similar events such as strike or lockout, the time
limit shall be extended accordingly.
4. If the Supplier is in default of delivery, the Purchaser may claim damages in
the maximum amount of 0.5 % for each full week of default, but of no more
than a total amount of 5 % of the price of that part of the Deliveries which
could not be used as intended because of the default - provided the Purchaser
provides proof of the loss suffered by him as a result of the default.
5. Any Purchaser claims for damages due to default of delivery as well as
claims for damages in lieu of performance exceeding the limits specified
under section 4 above shall be excluded in all cases of default of delivery.
This shall not apply in cases of mandatory liability for intent or gross
negligence. These provisions do not imply a reversal of the burden of proof
to the Purchaser‘s disadvantage. The Purchaser‘s right to withdraw from
the contract after expiry of a grace period without the Supplier having
fulfilled his obligations shall remain unaffected.
6. If shipment or delivery is delayed at the Purchaser’s request by more than one
month after notice of the readiness for shipment was given, the Purchaser may
be charged storage costs of 0.5 % of the price of the goods to be delivered, but
of no more than a total amount of 5 %, for every month commenced. The parties
may provide proof of higher or lower storage costs, as the case may be.
V.
Transfer of Risk
1. Even in the case of delivery having been effected freight free, the risk shall pass
to the Purchaser as follows:
a) If the Purchaser is an entrepreneur, the risk of accidental loss and accidental
deterioration of the goods to be delivered without assembly or erection shall
transfer to the Purchaser upon handover, or, in case of a shipment order,
upon handover of the goods to a forwarding agent, freight carrier or other
individuals or institutions assigned with consignment. The Supplier shall insure
the Deliveries against the usual transport risks upon request and at the expense
of the Purchaser.
If the Purchaser is a consumer, the risk of accidental loss and accidental deterioration of the sold items shall not pass to the Purchaser until the sold items have
been handed over, even in the case of a shipment order.
b) If the Deliveries include assembly or erection, the risk shall pass to the
Purchaser on the day of incorporation of the goods into the company‘s own
operation or, if agreed upon by the parties, after a fault-free trial run.
2. Where the shipping, delivery, the start or performance of the assembly
or erection, the incorporation of the goods into the company‘s own operation
or the trial run is delayed for reasons attributable to the Purchaser, or where
the Purchaser is in default of acceptance for other reasons, the risk shall pass
to the Purchaser.
VI. Acceptance
The Purchaser shall not be allowed to refuse acceptance of Deliveries for minor
defects.
VII. Material Defects
The Supplier shall be liable for material defects as follows:
1. All parts or services with a defect which becomes apparent within the limitation period - regardless of the hours of operation - shall be repaired, replaced
or provided anew free of charge, at the discretion of the Supplier, provided
that the reason for the material defect had already existed at the time of
the passage of risk.
2. If a material defect is detected, the Supplier shall first be given the opportunity
of alternative performance within a reasonable period of time. If such alternative performance has failed, the Purchaser may withdraw from the contract –
his claims for damages in accordance with article IX notwithstanding –
or reduce the purchase price.
3. In case of the Purchaser being an entrepreneur, claims based on defects shall
be time-barred after 12 months of delivery of the goods. If the Purchaser is a
consumer, the claims based on defects shall be time-barred after 2 years.
4. The Purchaser shall notify the Supplier of any material defects without undue
delay.
5. If the Supplier has been notified of a material defect, the Purchaser may
withhold payments to an extent which is reasonably proportionate to the
respective material defect. The Purchaser, however, if he is an entrepreneur,
may withhold payments only if the subject-matter of the notification of the
material defect has been ascertained or undisputed. If the notification of a
material defect is unjustified, the Supplier shall be entitled to have his expenses
reimbursed by the Purchaser.
6. There shall be no claims based on a material defect in cases of insignificant deviations from the agreed quality, of only minor impairment of usability,
of natural wear and tear or damage arising after the passage of risk
due to faulty or negligent handling, excessive use, unsuitable equipment, defective workmanship, inappropriate foundation soil or due to particular external
influences not assumed under the contract as well as non-reproducible software errors. If the Purchaser or a third party carries out improper modifications
or repair work, such work and its consequences shall likewise be excluded
from any claims based on a material defect.
7.
Entrepreneurs shall notify the Supplier of any apparent material defects within
two weeks of acceptance of the goods in writing. Any failure to do so shall
result in the exclusion of warranty claims. The punctual dispatch of the notice suffices to comply with this time limit. Consumers shall notify the Supplier
of any apparent material defects within two months of establishing the nonconformity of the goods. The adherence to this time limit shall be governed by
the Supplier‘s receipt of the notification of the material defect. If the consumer
fails to notify the Supplier of the defect, his rights under the warranty shall lapse
two months after the defect was established. This does not apply in cases of
wilful misrepresentation on the part of the Supplier.
8. If the Purchaser chooses to withdraw from the contract based on a defect of
title or a material defect after alternative performance has failed, he shall not
be entitled to claims for damages based on the same defect.
9.
The Purchaser shall not be entitled to any claims for expenses incurred in
the course of alternative performance, including expenses for transport, travel,
labour and material, insofar as the increase in expenses is due to the goods
having subsequently been transferred to a location other than the Purchaser’s
branch, unless this transfer is in compliance with the intended use of the
goods.
www.ehmann-gmbh.de
10. The Purchaser’s rights of recourse against the Supplier pursuant to section 478
of the German Civil Code (BGB) (Rights of recourse of the entrepreneur) are
limited to cases where the Purchaser has not concluded an agreement with
his customer exceeding the scope of the statutory provisions governing defect
claims. Moreover, section 9 above shall apply accordingly with regard to
the scope of the rights of recourse the Purchaser has against the Supplier
pursuant to section 478 (2) of the German Civil Code.
11. Furthermore, the provisions of article IX (Limitation of Liability) shall apply with
regard to claims for damages. Any other Purchaser claims against the Supplier
or his agents or any claims exceeding the defect claims provided for in this
article shall be excluded.
VIII. Impossibility of Performance; Adaptation of Contract
1. If Deliveries are impossible, the Purchaser shall be entitled to claim damages, unless the Supplier is not responsible for the impossibility. The Purchaser’s
claim for damages shall, however, be limited to the total amount of 10 % of
the value of the part of the Deliveries which cannot be used as intended due to
the impossibility. This shall not apply in cases of mandatory liability for intent,
gross negligence or damage to life, body or health. These provisions do not
imply a reversal of the burden of proof to the Purchaser‘s disadvantage. The
Purchaser‘s right to withdraw from the contract shall remain unaffected.
2. Where unforeseeable events within the meaning of article IV, section 3 substantially change the economic importance or the contents of the delivery
or considerably affect the Supplier’s business, the contract shall be adapted accordingly under consideration of good faith. Where an adaptation is
untenable, the Supplier shall have the right to withdraw from the contract. If
the Supplier intends to exercise his right to withdraw, he shall notify the
Purchaser thereof immediately upon realisation of the consequences of this
event. This shall also apply in cases where the time limit for delivery had
previously been extended by the Purchaser.
IX. Limitation of Liability
1. In case of a slightly negligent breach of contractual duty, the Supplier‘s liability shall be limited to the foreseeable, contract-specific and direct average
damage with regard to the type of goods. This shall also apply to slightly
negligent breaches of contractual duty on the part of the Supplier‘s statutory or vicarious agents. With regard to other companies, the Supplier shall
not be liable for slightly negligent breaches of immaterial contractual duties.
His liability shall be limited to € 2 mill. in cases of personal injury and to
€ 1 mill. in cases of damage to property.
2. The aforementioned limitations of liability do not affect the Purchaser‘s warranty
claims. Furthermore, the limitations of liability shall not apply in cases of bodily
harm and damage to health attributable to the Supplier or in the case of a
loss of the Purchaser‘s life.
X. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
1. If the Purchaser is a trader, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes
arising directly or indirectly from this contract shall be the Supplier’s place
of business. However, the Supplier may also bring an action in a court of law
at the Purchaser’s place of business.
2. Any legal relationship under this contract shall be governed by the substantive
law of Germany without regard to the United Nations Convention on the
International Sale of Goods (CISG).
XI. Validity of the Contract
The validity of the contract shall remain unaffected even if one or more
provisions of this contract are invalid or unenforceable. This shall not apply
if adherence to the contract would constitute undue hardship for one of the
parties to the contract.
