ABOUT US
The Fundraising Standards Board is a not for profit organisation that runs the self regulatory scheme
for fundraising in the UK. We were set up in 2006 and currently have nearly 2,000 members with
more joining all the time.
Our aim is to help you give with confidence; we want you to feel so confident that you give more
money more often to more good causes.
We do this by encouraging charities to join our scheme. When they do, they agree to follow a set of
standards and we support them to do this. We also expect them to listen to and deal with your
concerns. And if you’re not happy we can look into it further.
ABOUT OUR COMPLAINTS PROCESS
The FRSB operates a three stage complaints process:
Stage 1: We give the charity concerned an opportunity to address your complaint without our
intervention using its own complaints procedure. The charity has 30 days to try and resolve it.
Stage 2: If your complaint can’t be resolved by the charity, we will mediate between both parties with
the intention of reaching an amicable resolution.
Stage 3: If we can’t resolve the matter at Stage 2, you can refer your complaint to the FRSB board.
They will make an independent assessment and decide whether or not to uphold your complaint.
Their decision will be made public.
