Job Description Position: Community and Events Fundraiser Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 Hours: 37.5 hours a week Base: University Hospital, Coventry Responsible to: Head of UHCW Charity Who we are: University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity supports and improves the health and wellbeing of the patients of both hospitals managed by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust – University Hospital, Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. We also manage the charitable funds of Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, supporting local mental healthcare, learning disability services and community services. We exist to make things better for patients, their families and the staff who treat them; to support innovations and developments in treatments and to ensure patients receive world class care, now and in the future. The role: We are looking for a fundraising professional with experience of organising and marketing events and an excellent understanding of relationship management, supporter development and who has the drive and enthusiasm necessary to help grow this programme. They will raise funds for, and awareness of, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity throughout Coventry and Warwickshire by: - developing long term fundraising relationships with groups, volunteers and local organisations; - recruiting participants onto third party events (such as challenge and running events) and by organising our own Charity events. To achieve monthly income and activity targets as agreed with the Head of UHCW Charity 1.2. To evaluate all activities in terms of a cost/benefit ratio and to act with clear benefit in sight either in income or awareness. 2. Community Fundraising 2.1. To liaise with local schools, businesses, churches, individuals, organisations and community groups to raise fundraising income and promote University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity 2.2. To identify and develop fundraising activities to be delivered in the community, including our weekly lottery, annual prize draw, collection boxes and in aid of events 2.3. To work closely with volunteers assisting them in their fundraising activities and to recruit new volunteers and establish fundraising groups 2.4. To attend fundraising events as and when required as a representative of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity – including some unsociable hours 2.5. To build effective relationships with supporters to maximise the income generated for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire as well as ensure a great supporter experience 3. Event Fundraising 3.1. To develop and grow the existing portfolio of third party and Charity events and to ensure the ongoing engagement/contact with participants 3.2. To recruit and integrate volunteers in support of events organisation and on the day support 3.3. To secure sponsorship of event resources to reduce costs 3.4. To ensure all events comply with health and safety standards, sector standards and the charity’s insurance policy. Registered charity, England and Wales (1165393). Public Relations and Marketing 4.1. To devise and deliver a marketing plan for each fundraising event and community activity 4.2. To write media releases, for social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) and to update the Charity website 4.3. To design event marketing materials and fundraiser/volunteer resources 4.4. To attend speaking engagements, organise cheque presentations and host guests at the NHS sites - as a representative of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity 5. Managing Information 5.1. To maintain and update the fundraising database, Harlequin 5.2. To ensure all data collation is in line with current data protection laws and supporter relationship management plans 5.3. To process correspondence and other documentation as necessary 5.4. To provide reports and analysis of fundraising activities 6. Ensure all fundraising activities and events are in line appropriate legislation, the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Fundraising Practice, and any other code of practice applicable to the role or the charity 7. Assist generally within the Charity on a flexible basis as directed by the Head of UHCW Charity 8. To participate in annual appraisal and training as identified 9. To participate in mandatory training appropriate to the post 10.
