The instructions in this guide were specifically written for that space. All of the controls that are needed to integrate the AV equipment together can be accessed via the touch panel. 3 2.0 Turning the System On 2.10 Approaching and Waking the System Up Most likely the screen on the touch panel will be blank when approached (Figure 2.10), as a result of the system sitting idle for a period of time. Touch the screen anywhere to wake the system up. Once the system has been woken up from being touched, the startup screen will appear (Figure 2.11). To turn the system on, touch the “Press Here To Start System ” button. Figure 2.10 Figure 2.11 4 2.20 Starting the System Once the “Press Here To Start System” button has been touched, the system will begin to start, and a screen with the message “System is initializing. Please stand by.” will appear as well as a progress bar below it (Figure 2.20). After the system has finished starting up, the next screen that appears will be the Main Menu, which means that the system has successfully been turned on. Figure 2.20 5 3.0 The Main Menu 3.10 Getting to Know the Main Menu After a successful startup of the system, the Main Menu will be displayed on the touch screen (Figure 3.10). From the Main Menu, users have access to audio controls for each piece of equipment located in the room, as well as buttons for the selection of a video source to project and the opening of their respective controls. Figure 3.10 Video sources are listed on the left hand side of the screen (Figure 3.11), and the audio controls for each video source are located on the right hand side of the screen (Figure 3.12). Figure 3.11 Figure 3.12 6 3.20 Description of Video Sources Table 3.20 below provides a description of the video sources and corresponding controls that can be accessed by touching the button pictured on the left side of the table. (Refer to Figure 3.11 for each button’s location on the touch screen.) Table 3.20 Button Video Source Description External (Auxiliary) Video Source Main Computer External Laptop Document Camera (Unavailable in this room) DVD/BluRay Combo Player (Instructions for connecting an external laptop to the system are provided in Section 4.41). 7 3.21 Selecting a Video Source To select a video source, touch the button for the video source you wish to use. Once a video source button has been touched that source will be projected. After a video source has been selected, the video controls for that particular source will appear in the center of the screen. (Instructions for using the specific controls for each source are provided in Section 4.0). NOTE: If a video source is the first source that has been selected since the system has been turned on, selecting that source will turn on the projector. The projector will take about 60 seconds to warm-up and cannot be shut off while it is warming up. 8 3.30 Using the Audio Controls The touch panel is capable of performing three basic audio functions: volume increase, volume decrease and volume mute. Table 3.30 below shows the relationship between each button and its corresponding function. To perform each function, touch the button of the corresponding function you wish to perform. (Refer to Figure 3.12 for each button’s location on the touch screen.) Table 3.30 Button Function Volume Increase Volume Decrease Volume Mute The blue volume indicating bar (Figure 3.30) will move up when the volume increase button is touched (Table 3.30) and down when the volume decrease button is touched (Table 3.30). When the volume mute button has been touched to mute the program volume, the volume indicating bar will disappear and the mute button will be highlighted in red (Figure 3.31). Figure 3.30 Figure 3.31 9 3.30 Using the Audio Controls cont. NOTE: The main computer (labeled “Desktop PC” on the touch panel), and the laptop (if in use), have separate audio controls as part of their operating systems. These controls operate independently of the touch panel audio controls. As a result, in order to distribute audio to the room, the audio from the computer must be unmuted, and set to an audible level. The touch panel mute button will prevent audio from being distributed to the room, even if the computer’s volume is unmuted and set to an audible level. Touching the volume increase button (Table 3.30) on the touch panel will automatically unmute the audio being distributed by the system. 10 3.40 Aspect Ratio Button Touch the “Aspect Ratio” button (Figure 3.40) to switch the aspect ratio of the projected image for the selected source. Figure 3.40 11 3.50 Utilities Button The “Utilities” button (Figure 3.50) will open a page with advanced controls.
