Mats Inc. Maintenance Instructions for Spectation™
These instructions supersede any verbal or written instructions from Mats Inc. representatives, and must
be followed in order for the warranty to be in effect.
Overall
Important: The choice of color and pattern, the layout of entrances and staircases, and the cleaning
standards of the end user will influence the specific maintenance requirements for the product.
Preventative maintenance: Because 90% of all dirt in a building comes in on footwear, Mats Inc.
strongly recommends installing and maintaining entrance matting (preferably permanently installed) at all
outdoor entrances (20-30 linear feet for major entrances; less for infrequently used entrances). Doing this
will improve indoor air quality, reduce flooring maintenance costs, and lengthen the life of your interior
floors.
Safety: Always post “Wet floor” and/or “Caution” tape when wet maintenance is going to be performed.
Refer to cleaners’ MSDS for any Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
Cleaning and disinfecting products: Mats Inc. recommends Diversey Profi™ Floor Cleaner and
Grease Remover, Stride® Neutral Cleaner and Wiwax™. Use products according to the manufacturer’s
instructions (www.diversey.com; 1-262-631-4001).
Initial Cleaning
Initial cleaning is required 72 hours after installation.

Sweep flooring or use heavy-duty commercial vacuum to remove all loose dirt and debris.
Prepare Diversey Profi™ Floor Cleaning solution according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Apply cleaning solution with mop and let stand for 5-10 minutes. Do not let the solution dry.
Use buffer, auto scrubber with Diversey Purple Pad or 3M™ Red Buffer Pad to scrub the floor.
Wet vacuum the soiled solution.
Rinse floor with clean water and remove with wet vacuum.
Allow floor to dry thoroughly before using (approximately 1- 2 hours).
Daily Cleaning
It is recommended to sweep and/or dust mop the floor or use heavy-duty commercial vacuum to remove
all dirt and grit daily.
Weekly Cleaning
Washing the floor should be done at least once weekly.

Spot Cleaning
Use Stride® Neutral Cleanser for spot cleaning.

Prepare Diversey Stride® Neutral Cleaning solution according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Spray on floor spot and wipe with a clean mop or cloth.
Allow floor to dry thoroughly before using (approximately 1- 2 hours).
Deep Cleaning
Mats Inc. recommends using Diversey Wiwax™ to wax-wash flooring at least once every 6 month.
Please note: Diversey Wiwax™ is not recommended for surfaces colder than 50o F.
1. Sweep flooring or use heavy-duty commercial vacuum to remove all loose dirt and debris.
2. Blockade areas to be cleaned, as floors will be very slippery until dry.
3. Add Diversey Wiwax™ to lukewarm water:
 For mop and bucket cleaning: add two (2) oz solution per gallon lukewarm water.
 For auto scrubber cleaning: add four (4) oz solution per gallon lukewarm water.
4. Mop/auto scrub floor clean with the solution.
5. Pick up soil and excess cleaner with a clean, tightly wrung-out cleaning mop.
6. Do not rinse floor after cleaning.
