LED EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM
INVERTER/CHARGER MODEL PS2333
CAUTION: For safety and proper operation, read and follow instructions carefully before installation.
CAUTION: A potential electrical hazard exists even
when AC power supply has been turned off.
Disconnect Battery Connector (2 red leads) before
servicing.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1.READ AND FOLLOW ALL
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
2. Before wiring to power supply, turn off electricity at fuse or
circuit breaker.
Make sure that branch circuit feeds are derived from a
common phase for both normal lighting driver and
PS2333 prior to installation.
3. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, disconnect AC power
and unplug red battery connector before servicing.
The PS2333 can be used with a switched or unswitched
(night) circuit. When used with a switched fixture it is
important to note that the power to the PS2333 inverter/
charger must be provided by an unswitched circuit.
5. Consult your local building code for approved wiring and
installation.
APPROXIMATE WORKING VOLTAGE
Inverter/charger input: 120 OR 277V AC
4. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel.
6. Do not use outdoors. This product is for use with indoor
fixtures except air handling heated outlets, and wet or
hazardous location fixtures.
7. The emergency ballast must be connected to an
unswitched AC power source (120 or 277 volts).
8. Do not mount near gas or electric heater.
9. Equipment should be mounted in location and at heights
where it will not readily be subjected to tampering by
unauthorized personnel.
10. The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
11. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
UNSWITCHED FIXTURE
1.
Inspect PS2333 and make sure the battery connector
(2 red leads) is not connected.
2.
Remove fixture channel cover and install the Emergency Battery Pack
on top of fixture (fig 1). Do not mount Emergency Battery Pack over
LED driver. If necessary, drill holes and mount with screws (not provided).
Emergency Battery Pack may also be remote mounted (fig 5).
3.
Connect unit to driver and LED(s) as indicated in appropriate
wiring diagram (fig A).
4.
Install the pilot light and test switch as described in the section below,
called INSTALLING PILOT LIGHT AND TEST SWITCH.

5. To mount pilot light behind fixture lens, pull pilot light
and mesh holder
through bushing
to desired
length. (see figure 4, alternate mounting).
NOTE: Allow battery to charge 24 hours before initial testing
and 168 hours to fully charge battery.
NOTE: Do not extend battery connector leads (red & red)
and lamp selector (violet) leads. These connectors should
be left in the junction box.
JUNCTION BOX AND CONDUIT NOT SUPPLIED FOR REMOTE
INSTALLATION.
CAUTION: Damage to battery will occur if battery
connection is made for a prolonged period of time without AC
power provided.

INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
NOTE: Emergency lighting systems should be tested as often as local codes
require, or at least quarterly to insure that all components are operational.
Perform all tests required by local codes.
1.
Check equipment rating to be sure that fixture will receive proper
line voltage.
2.
Be sure pilot light is on. If pilot light does not operate, check to see that:
1. AC power is on.
2. Voltage on branch circuit to Inverter/Charger is rated at line voltage (120V or 277V).
If no line voltage can be measured, locate problem in branch circuit and correct.
3.
Engage test switch. The pilot light should be off. The Emergency Battery Pack
automatically switches to emergency power operating the LEDs.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect inverter battery connector (2 red leads).
2. Disconnect both switched and unswitched power to
fixture.
3. Remove screw located at end of lid, remove lid.
4. Unplug and remove old battery. Plug in new battery and
place inside case. Reinstall inverter/charger lid.
5. Supply AC power to fixture and reconnect inverter battery
connector (2 red leads). Pilot light should be illuminated.
