Cromwell Academy --- Mental Maths
Multiply and divide mentally, including: multiplying by 0 and 1;
dividing by 1; multiplying together three numbers
Count from 0 in multiples of 4, 8, 50 and 100; find 10 or 100 more or
less than a given number
Use multiples of 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 50 and 100.
Extend known facts to three-digit numbers to derive facts, (for example
600 ÷ 3 = 200 can be derived from 2 x 3 = 6).
Year 5
Add and subtract numbers mentally with increasingly large numbers
Multiply and divide numbers mentally drawing upon known facts
Use increasingly large numbers to aid fluency (for example, 12 462 ---2300 = 10 162).
They mentally add and subtract tenths, and one-digit whole numbers
and tenths.
