Other Wastewater Projects as Structural Engineer
City of Louisville WWTP Expansion, Louisville, Colorado: $2.8M expansion of
treatment facility, increasing capacity from 2.5 MGD to 3.4 MGD and upgrading
processes to meet stricter effluent standards. New structures include RAS/WAS building
with a below grade pump gallery and an 80-foot diameter clarifier. A new effluent trough
between circular walls of a clarifier and aeration basin was designed and existing post-
tensioned concrete walls were checked for new piping penetrations at the outlet of the
effluent trough. In addition, modifications were made to an existing chlorine contact
basin to house a new UV Disinfection system.
St. Vrain WWTP Expansion (2000), St. Vrain Sanitation District: Expansion of the
existing wastewater treatment facility. New structures included an Operations building
with a below grade level pump gallery and adjacent UV area and blower room, two 92)
60 foot diameter secondary clarifiers and a Headworks building with two below grade
levels. Other miscellaneous work also included structural design of a sampling platform
and flow splitter box.
Plum Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Addition, Plum Creek Wastewater
Authority Castle Rock, CO.: $30M expansion of existing treatment plant, increasing
capacity from 1.45 mgd to 3.55mgd. New structures include 3- 3.4M gallon oxidation
ditches, selector basins, a 20 ft x 20 ft utility corridor beneath a service road, 3- 85 foot
diameter clarifiers, a blower building, a centrifuge building, a filter building, a UV
disinfection building and a maintenance building. Modifications and additions include
conversion of existing aerobic digester basins to include a pump station, storage facility
and walkway bridge. Also included are structural modifications to a headworks building
and an addition to an administration building.
Squaw Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion, Eagle River Water &
Sanitation District, Edwards, CO.: $16M expansion of existing treatment plant,
increasing capacity from 1.2 MGD to 2.95 MGD and upgrading processes in order to
meet stricter effluent standards. New structures include Septage Receiving and
Headworks building, Primary Clarifiers, Odor Control building, Secondary Clarifiers (2),
Solids Processing and ATAD building, and Administration building. Work also included
structural modifications to existing aeration basins, one of which house a new UV
Disinfection building.
Tri-Lakes WWTP Expansion, Tri-Lakes Joint Use Committee, Monument, CO:
$2.5M expansion of existing treatment plant, increasing capacity from 2.8 MGD TO 4.2
MGD. New structures include a below grade pump gallery, a 50 foot diameter clarifier, a
UV disinfection building over an existing chlorine contact chamber, and a sampling
platform at the aeration basin lagoon.
Pueblo West WWTP Expansion, Pueblo West Metropolitan District, Pueblo, CO.:
$3.2M expansion of treatment plant, increasing capacity to 1.8 MGD. New structures
include an Operations building with a blower room, UV disinfection area, and below
grade pump gallery, two 50 foot diameter clarifiers, a Headworks building, flow splitter
box, and a sampling platform at an aeration basin lagoon.
City of Montrose WWTP Improvements, Montrose, CO.: $.8M improvement project
to existing facility to upgrade treatment processes in order to meet stricter effluent
standards. Design consisted of structural modifications and new construction to an
existing chlorine contact basin, resulting in a new UV Disinfection building.
