Murphy Company Denver Expands
DENVER – Murphy Company, one of the nation’s top mechanical contractors, has added four
new industry professionals to accommodate recent growth in its Colorado market. Matthew
Crowe has been named Quick Response project engineer and Frederick Hansen has been
added as project sales account manager. Nicholas Holstein has been named senior project
manager and Troy Woods has been added as service account manager. Bob Mathisen, senior
vice president and general manager, also announced that Daniel C. Shepardson, P.E. and
LEED AP, has been promoted to internal commissioning team leader.
Dan Shepardson’s promotion to internal commissioning team leader caps over 10 years of
service with the Murphy Company. Shepardson is responsible
for developing internal commissioning processes that drive
improved project delivery. He works with project staff,
subcontractors, other trades, suppliers and design teams to
improve coordination
and final quality on mechanical systems buildout, installation, start up and turnover. Shepardson
received his Bachelor of Science in engineering science from Colorado State University, and
currently holds both LEED (O+M) and University of Wisconsin QCxP commissioning
credentials. He has over 30 years of industry experience combining both mechanical systems
and temperature controls design and construction.
Matt Crowe, Quick Response project engineer, is responsible for assisting project managers in
customer relationships and project technical support. He is a
Purdue University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in
construction management. The Quick Response Group of
Murphy Company excels in quick-turnaround projects in the
plumbing, HVAC and process piping arenas.
Fred Hansen, project sales account manager, is responsible for supporting the firm’s work by
promoting and selling Murphy Company’s Quick Response group
in Colorado. Fred has a broad range of experience from his 20plus years selling mechanical construction projects, control system
modifications, and mechanical design-build opportunities in the
Denver market. His expertise in HVAC upgrades and retrofits
helps provide cost-effective solutions for Murphy Company’s customers. He holds a bachelor’s
degree from St. Olaf College.
Nick Holstein, senior project manager, has managed large healthcare and data center projects in
both the private and government sectors. His skills, experience and
education will enable him to successfully lead project teams in the
installation of complete mechanical systems on larger projects
including data centers, healthcare, grass-roots facilities and building
renovations. Nick earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering from
the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science in
engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Troy Woods comes to Murphy as an account manager within the Colorado Service Group. He
will be responsible for prospecting new service opportunities in the
region. His primary focus will be to develop preventive maintenance
solutions with the clients; plus, support any retrofit and repair work
that the service client may require. His ultimate goal in this role is to
provide excellent customer service to Murphy customers and to
provide for the retention of these service customers. Troy received
his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in industrial technology from Purdue University
and has close to 20 years of practical sales experience in both the manufacturing and industrial
marketplaces.
