Exception states that elevation ofthe ignition source is not required for appliances listed as flammable vapor ignition resistant. 27 Mechanical Code Changes • 304.7 - Private garages New section requiring appliances located in private garages and carports to be installed at least 6 feet above the floor. Exception for appliances protected from motor vehicle impact and installed in accordance with Section 304.3 • 306.3 - Appliances in attics Maximum passageway length has been increased to 20 feet. Exception permits the passageway length to be 50 feet where it is not less than 6 feet high and 22 inches wide for its entire length. Also, see Energy Code.
