SUPPLEMENTAL RESEARCH ADDENDUM
TO
AGREEMENT
WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND FOUNDATION
AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND FOR
MEMBERSHIP IN THE
CENTER FOR ADVANCED LIFE CYCLE ENGINEERING (CALCE) CONSORTIA
In accordance with Sections 3.7 and 11.12 of the CALCE Consortia Membership Agreement
(“Agreement”), effective _______________________, the Parties hereby agree modify the Agreement to
add this addendum, effective immediately upon execution.
The Member identified below would like the EPS Consortium to undertake a particular research project
(“Supplemental Research Project” or “Project”)) that is not on the Consortium’s existing research agenda
and agrees to pay the Supplemental Research Project Fee indicated below to support the Project. The
director of the EPS Consortium has reviewed the proposed Project and determined that it is consistent
with the consortium’s research interests. The University agrees to undertake the Supplemental Research
Project described in the Scope of Work, attached to and incorporated as part of this Addendum as Exhibit
A, subject to the following terms and conditions:
1.
Member shall issue a Supplemental Research Project Fee in the following amount to support the
Supplemental Research Project:
_____ Fifty Thousand Dollars per one year project that does not require laboratory work
_____ Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars per half year project that does not require laboratory work
_____ Seventy Thousand Dollars per one year project that requires laboratory work
____ Thirty-five Thousand Dollars per half year project that requires laboratory work
The Supplemental Research Project Fee is dedicated to performing the Project and does not
include any overhead charges.

Member will pay the Supplemental Research Project Fee by check or money order payable to the
University of Maryland Foundation, Inc. and sent to:

3.
Work on the Supplemental Research Project will not commence until this Addendum has been
executed and the Supplement Research Project Fee received.
4.
The results of Supplemental Consortium Research Projects constitute Materials, as defined in
Agreement Section 1.6, and are subject to all provisions in this Agreement that apply to
Materials.
