College of the Sequoias parking Lot 4 is the closest to the lecture hall and day parking permits cost are $2. Fresno State permits are treated as COS permits. California State University, Fresno is seeking approval to modify the current campus impaction plan to include full program impaction starting in the academic year 2016-17. The proposed changes will be discussed at the hearings. We are proposing to implement program impaction for all first time freshmen and new upper division transfers. Program impaction will include a variety of tools to manage enrollment. Program Impaction Plan for 2016/2017 Timeline for Accepting Applications Fall 2016 Admissions Applications will only be accepted for first time freshmen and new upper division transfers during the initial filing period between October 1 and November 30th. Returning students have until February 1, 2016 to submit their application. Admissions will continue to be closed for lower division transfer students. Spring 2017 Admissions Applications will only be accepted for new upper division transfers during the initial filing period between August 1 and August 31st. Admissions will not be open to returning students or lower division transfer students. Fresno State will reserve the right to not open for spring admissions if enrollment demands exceed space availability. Local Area Definition Fresno State will continue to use the criteria established previously to define our local area population. For first time freshmen our local area includes: A. Students who attended a high school in the counties of Fresno, Kings, Madera, or Tulare. B. Students who attended a partner high school that has had a historic relationship with Fresno State (click here to see full list). C. Students who attended a high school in the local service area of California State University, Stanislaus and have applied to a program at Fresno State that is not offered at CSU Stanislaus. For transfer students our local area includes students where the majority of transfer units come from the following community colleges: Fresno City College, Reedley College, College of the Sequoias, Merced Community College, Modesto Junior College, West Hills Community College, West Hills College-Lemoore. Impaction Procedures All local admissible students will be grouped by intended program and then rank ordered by eligibility criteria that will be established for each program. Depending on enrollment needs and space availability determined after November 30th for fall and August 31st for spring, minimum eligibility criteria will be established by program for local students. Offers of admission will then be given to students that meet the established minimum criteria. Impaction Criteria First Time Freshmen All first time freshmen applicants will be required to take either the SAT or ACT. Admission eligibility will be determined by the following criteria. • Local and nonlocal designation • Eligibility Index • High School GPA • Completion of specific high school college prep courses directly tied to intended program. The priority and weight of the criteria will differ by individual program.
