CANOPY / PARKING GARAGE 4760 SERIES T5 LINEAR FLUORESCENT The Hydrel 4760 Series T5 Linear Fluorescent Canopy & Parking Garage Luminaire Hydrel’s architecturally styled canopy and parking garage luminaires combine rugged construction and superior performance to create a linear lighting solution suitable for all outdoor climates and applications. The PolarPack™ cold weather option is an active temperature management system maintaining optimal operating conditions even in the harshest of winters. With the patent pending PolarPack™ cold weather option, near full light output is now a reality to 0°F (-18°C). Hydrel’s 4760 Series Canopy and Garage lighting fixtures combine T5 lamp technology with high performance optics. The T5 fluorescent lamp offers approximately 100 lumens/watt, 25,000 hour lamp life, instant on capability, and a color rendering index greater than 80. The high output quadrilaterally symmetrical distributions and the simple design lines make the 4760 Series fixtures ideal for spreading soft, even illumination under canopies, over walkways or within parking garages. These performance features combined with the fixture’s low profile and simple styling provide an unequalled blend of design and performance. Architecturally Styled | Rugged Construction | Superior Performance 1 Outdoor T5 Technology In the early 1960s Hydrel set out to make the most reliable underwater lighting fixtures the world has ever seen. This was no small task, but we accomplished it. Since then, we have moved up onto land, and continued to build all Hydrel outdoor lighting products the same way: Rugged, Impenetrable, Uncommonly Reliable, and Performance Oriented. Continuing our pursuit of providing performance luminaires for all lighting applications is not just our goal, it is our passion! In the pursuit of our passion, Hydrel has successfully integrated the efficient T5/T5HO fluorescent lamp technology with a performance outdoor all-weather luminaire, the 4760 T5 Canopy Light. The 4760 provides the perfect blend of design and performance that has made Hydrel unique in outdoor lighting. Features Architecturally styled, low profile housing. Utilizes T5 or T5HO high efficiency lamps. Precision optics designed to maximize lighting performance and minimize glare. Fixture construction: Copper free extruded/ die cast/sheet aluminum with extruded SuperTuf™ acrylic lensing. Fully gasketed to meet IP65 and U.L. wet location requirements. Surface and Pendant mounting. PolarPack™ cold weather technology ensures reliable, high output at low ambient temperatures. Emergency/battery back-up option. Designed for single or continuous row applications. Wall mount applications maintain UL Wet Location listing when specifiying Ceiling Mount Option. 2 ADA Compliant PolarPack™ Design POLARPACK™ TECHNOLOGY Hydrel’s patent pending PolarPack™ Technology resolves the temperature sensitive issues of using T5 and T5HO lamps in the outdoor environment. This breakthrough allows for advancements in outdoor landscape, building, garage and parking lighting. ACTIVE THERMAL CONTROL PolarPack™ Technology senses and regulates the thermal environment in which the lamp operates, optimizing its performance in lower than normal temperatures. MAXIMUM USE OF POWER/LIGHT OUTPUT PolarPack™ Technology takes advantage of the T5 & T5HO light output efficiency to deliver high light output for the minimum amount of power consumption critical in today’s demanding energy environment. CONSTRUCTION ™ Lens - Impact resistant extruded SuperTuf acrylic, fresnelled for a uniform distribution, sealed to the housing with silicon gasketing. 100% 90% PERCENT OF RATED LUMENS Housing - Constructed from extruded aluminum sides with aluminum sheet backing and die cast aluminum end caps assembled into a unitized body. The housing is fully gasketed and sealed against moisture. 80% 70% 4760 W/POLARPACK™ 60% 50% 40% 4760 STANDARD 30% 20% 10% 0°F 10°F 20°F 30°F 40°F 50°F 60°F 70°F 80°F 90°F 100°F 110°F Optics - Patent Pending optics. Precision formed combination white enameled steel and Miro4™ specular aluminum for maximum reflectivity. The reflector serves as the mounting plate for the socket and ballast, allowing for complete assembly of electrical components outside the housing. Wiring End Plates - Allow access for through branch wiring in continuous run configurations. AMBIENT OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE ABOVE GRAPH SHOWS A LUMEN OUTPUT COMPARISON OF THE 4760 WITH AND WITHOUT THE POLARPACK OPTION RELATIVE TO OUTDOOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURE. The 4760 luminaire utilizes an additional intermittent 15 watts per unit for temperatures below 40º F (4º C) when using PolarPack™ Technology. Continuous Run Capable End Caps - Fixture end caps will allow for end-to-end mounting using three ¼-20 fasteners. 3 Volumetric Canopy Lighting The term “Volumetric Lighting” simply refers to lighting that is less directional and more uniform throughout the entire volume of a space. Volumetric lighting extends beyond the work plane to adequately illuminate the entirety of the space, resulting in a better balance of luminance through the visual field. The space feels brighter, larger, more public, and more relaxing. Facial rendering is more natural, consistent, and complimentary. Shadows tend to be softer and less pronounced, and the appearance of the space is less defined by sharp, arbitrary transitions in surface brightness. Volumetric lighting does a better job of rendering architecture, its contents, and its occupants true to form. The attributes of volumetric lighting are well understood and appreciated, as evidence by the popularity of indirect and direct/indirect suspended lighting. The need exists for a highly efficient surface or pendant mounted luminaire capable of providing quality volumetric exterior lighting. However, volumetric lighting is dependent upon high angle illumination, and this becomes a challenge in terms of glare management. Specular optics directly image the extreme brightness of the lamp. The solution lies in recognizing that luminous intensity is the product of luminance and area. For a given intensity value, the brightness of the luminaire can be reduced if the area from which that brightness emanates can be increased in size. This is another way of saying that the solution is to create a luminaire whose brightness Is distributed relatively uniformly over the entire luminaire aperture, and this implies that diffusing optics, rather than specular, must be employed. DIRECTIONAL LIGHTING VOLUMETRIC LIGHTING 4760 MAINTENANCE Lumen Dirt Depreciation: Hose-down capabilities are often a requirement for open air structures. The 4760’s IP65 rating makes that a reality for any outdoor application. Light Loss Factor: T5 technology maintains at least 90% of initial lumen output throughout the life of the lamp. Rated Lamp Life: Lamp replacement costs are critical when evaluating the financial impact of an overall lighting system. The T5 / T5HO lamp is rated for 25,000 hours for three hour starts and 35,000 hours for twelve hour starts, compared to the 15,000 hour lamp life a 150 watt ED-17 Metal Halide lamp provides. 24 hour operation realizes roughly an additional year of lamp life for the T5 source. Major Electrical Components: The reflector serves as a mounting plate for the socket and ballast, allowing for a single person to perform major electrical component replacements in a matter of minutes, avoiding costly lane closures and labor hours when specifying in high traffic parking structures. Multiple Lamps: The 4760’s two-lamp system affords each luminaire a unique ability to contribute to the overall lighting system upon failure of a single lamp, ensuring no space falls into complete darkness prior to identifying service needs. 4 Parking Garage Lighting SINGLE ROW SYSTEM - 4760 MAINTAINED ILLUMINATION Bay Width Mounting Height Spacing A B C D E F Avg.
