Long after conventional devices have weakened
and allowed the cord to slip - resulting in strain on
the terminals - Hubbell Insulgrip® retains its

cord grip in the industry. Insulgrip features an
offset cord gripping design that actually clamps the

Hubbell Twist-Lock. The Hubbell 20A and 30A
Insulgrip® Twist-Lock product line has been expanded
to provide a complete family of Safety-Shroud TwistLock devices. In this all-new line, plug blades are
protected by a fixed shroud that shields the blades
from possible deformation and, even more
importantly, virtually eliminates user contact with an
energized partially connected plug.
The Safety-Shroud Twist-Lock series is intended for
installation where water tightness is not a factor, but
the added safety of the shrouded design is highly
desirable. Here again, the Safety-Shroud™ is molded
of an engineered thermoplastic for a very high level of
impact resistance. In order to satisfy every application
and every need, Hubbell offers this series in three
different styles of receptacles—surface, angle and
semi-flush. Whether the needs are maintenance and
repair, renovation or new construction, there is a
receptacle design to accommodate your needs. In
addition, this series offers Safety-Shroud plugs and
even a separate Safety-Shroud kit that can be used to
convert the standard Insulgrip Twist-Lock plug into the
shrouded design.
To provide an additional measure of safety in the
workplace, Hubbell goes beyond shrouding to provide
mechanically interlocked enclosures, designed
expressly for use with this series, that virtually prevent
the connecting and disconnecting of equipment under

made of Supertough nylon for better impact
resistance. On the plug, the stainless steel shroud

construction cannot be distorted, thus minimizing
the possibility of mating incorrect devices.
On the inside are the kinds of features that
separate Hubbell from all the rest. The cord grip
has been designed with offset gripping jaws to
securely hold the conductors – not just the cord
jacket. Hubbell’s box terminals speed wiring and
provide a superior termination. The plug’s Rynite®
thermoplastic interior provides excellent heat
resistance without compromising strength.
In all, it’s the combination of function and
performance that Hubbell demands of all its
products. And it’s why we’ll never add a feature
that compromises performance.
