Optical Sensing Instrument | si255 Description Key Features The si255 is an industrial grade fan-less optical sensing interrogator. Featuring both static and dynamic full spectrum analysis, the si255 provides long-term, reliable and accurate measurements of nearly 1000 sensors on 16 parallel, 160 nm wide channels. Full spectrum at 1 kHz with 160 nm or 5 kHz with 80 nm on 16 parallel channels simultaneously, eliminating the need for optical switches The si255 features an all new, high power, low noise, ultra wide swept wavelength laser with guaranteed absolute accuracy on every scan which is realized with Micron Optics patented Fiber Fabry-Perot filter and wavelength reference technology. The all new HYPERION platform, on which the si255 is based, features new and groundbreaking capabilities including highperformance on-board DSP and real-time FPGA processing. This enables rapid full-spectrum data acquisition and flexible peak detect algorithms of Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG), Long Period FBGs and Fabry-Perot (FP) sensors with low-latency access to data for closed loop feedback applications. Dynamic and absolute measurements of FBG & FP sensors on 16 parallel,160 nm wide channels and ENLIGHT compatible. The HYPERION platform is now compatible with ENLIGHT, Sensing Analysis Software, which provides a single suite of tools for data acquisition, computation, and analysis of optical sensor networks. More information on ENLIGHT can be found here. The HYPERION platform also includes a comprehensive fully supported Application Programing Interface (API) and LabVIEW, Python, Matlab, C# and C++ examples. Dynamic and absolute measurements of FBGs, LPGs and FP optical sensors from detailed optical spectrum Single and continuous 25 dB dynamic range, available to each sensor on each channel, independent of differential system losses Data verification key guarantees only valid output. Each data set is calibrated and verified against any potential sources of system error. For details, see 1 www.micronoptics.com/products/product_designations/ Per NIST Technical Note 1297, 1994 Edition, Section D.1.1.1, 2 definition of "accuracy of measurement.” Verified by HCN cell and 1m patch cord. Captures effects of long term use over full operating 3 temperature range of the instrument. Per NIST Technical Note 1297, 1994 Edition, Sect D.1.1.2, 4 definition of "repeatability [of results of measurements]." Dynamic range in peak detection mode is 30dB at 1Hz data rate, 25 dB at 100 Hz scan rate and 20 dB at 1 KHz scan 5 rate. Dynamic range in full spectrum mode is defined as laser launch power minus detection noise floor. 5kHz model runs at 5kHz only. Used for performance qualification. FBG bandwidths of 0.1 6 to 1.0 nm are compatible, but some may reduce performance or may require custom peak detection parameters. Complies with the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU for the 7 following European countries: UK, IT, DE, FR, NL, BE, ES, CH.
