DEFINITIONS
Bi-level Stairwell/Corridor Fixture - Designed to reduce energy consumption while still providing appropriate illumination levels during occupied periods and emergency egress. When spaces are unoccupied, the fixtures operate at low light
levels.
Candelabra Base - A smaller screw-in base for light bulbs with a 12 millimeter diameter, referred also as an E12 base.
De-lamping - The permanent removal of existing lamps, ballasts and unused lamp holders (tombstones) from existing
fixtures without replacing the lamps.
Edison Base - The most common screw-in base for light bulbs with a 26 millimeter diameter, referred also as an E26
(or medium) base.
Electroluminescent Exit Sign - Exit sign using materials containing phosphors that light up when voltage is applied.
ETL Listed Mark - A product bearing the ETL Listed Mark has been tested to be in compliance with applicable electric,
gas and other safety standards. For more information, visit www.etl.com.
Fixture - Refers to a new equipment being installed based on system (lamp and ballast) wattage.
Fixture-Integrated Sensors - Occupancy sensors that are factory or field-installed in a lighting fixture intended to
control the lamps within that fixture.
Garage - A parking garage is a covered building or structure for the purpose of parking vehicles, which consists of at
least a roof over the parking area enclosed with walls on all sides. Parking garages may have fences, rails, partial walls
(pony wall), or other barriers in place of one or more walls. The structure has an entrance(s) and exit(s), and includes
areas for vehicle maneuvering to reach the parking spaces. If the roof of the parking structure is also used for parking,
the section without an overhead roof is considered a parking lot instead of a parking garage.
High Performance T8 Lamp - High performance, T8 lamps are also known as 800 series. Typically the third generation
T8 lamps outperform 1st generation 700 series T8s in both lamp lumen output and longer lamp life.
Incandescent - Includes quartz Turglsen Halogen Lamps.
NEMA Premium Ballasts - Most efficient fluorescent fixed-output and dimmable electronics for T8 ballasts recognized
by the National Electronic Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
Photoluminescent Exit Sign - Non-electrified exit sign containing materials that absorb and reradiate light.
RoHS - Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive
Self-Contained Wall-Switch (Wall-Box) Lighting Sensors - Line voltage units that are designed to replace a standard

RESIDENTIAL HIGH EFFICIENCY CLOTHES-WASHER
Modified Energy Factor (MEF) - measures energy consumption of the total laundry cycle (washing and drying). It
indicates how many cubic feet of laundry can be washed and dried with one kWh of electricity; the higher the number,
the greater the efficiency.
Water Factor (WF) - represents the number of gallons of water needed for each cubic foot of laundry. The lower number
indicates lower consumption and more efficient use of water.
Requirements:
 Rebate is for a high-efficiency residential washer used at a business for onsite/in-house laundry
