modelofteachingartistresidencyunusualacrosstheUnitedStatesandhaspotentialforgrowthinthe

$100,000 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Our Town grant. Our subcontract
funded a 9 month residency program imbedding two graduate student artists in the
Center City South neighborhood focused on a series of story-based arts programs and
eventsexploringtheconnectionsthesePhoenixresidentshavetotheircommunities.

South Phoenix to explore “What is healthy?” through theatre and devised performance.
This project partnered school children, artists-educators from ASU, and the co-artistic
director from Rising Youth Theatre. The project culminated in a performance & dinner
created by local chefs, but meeting the USDA food standards and enjoyed by family and
