Sealing
The PBX Secure range includes an IP40 and a sealed IP 67 version. With any version, the PBX
plunger is equipped with a silicon membrane which protects the contacts against external
pollutions (dust and fluids). For the IP67 version, a joint makes the sealing inside the
housing, and potting resin strengthens the sealing between the terminals and the housing.
Direct Opening Action and Long Overtravel
Crouzet offers a switch insuring a very high contact reliability. This solution has been
validated by many mechanical endurance tests made by various Crouzet customers,
especially in the railway and off-road markets.
The PBX switch guarantees the opening of the contacts with its positive break
mechanism (cf. standard IEC 60 947-51). The product intrinsically gets a long overtravel
after the positive opening position (POP), allowing it to absorb the mechanical
tolerances. This offers a greater flexibility for implementation for customers. This
patented contact block, from the proven Crouzet Industrial Limit Switch product family,
is very efficient (more than 10 million cycles) and operates in extreme temperature
environments (qualified for -50°C/-58°F).
Protection Degree and Low Temperature
Crouzet is proud to offer a unique product with an IP67 level and a -50°C/-58°F
minimum operating temperature to be compliant with DIN 41636 form F and IEC
60947-5-1.
