Operating Manager
Details:
Sales Department
The taillight assembly of the various R 1200 C models has been updated twice as a result of damage caused by vibration.
Variant 1 was the original equipment as installed on the R 1200 C
models from the start of production.
Accessory Department
Variant 2 was introduced on R 1200 C models produced after October
2001. It is recognizable by the fact that there are no mounting screws
that pass through the outside of the chrome bezel. In addition, the
revised part has a separate license plate carrier.

1). Please note that the new rear lights have a separate license plate holder which has
to be ordered separately, including mounting parts, in the event of an update from the
original version of the taillight.
2). When replacing the original light assembly with the integrated license plate carrier,
be sure to replace the M5 x 16 retaining bolts (visible externally) with M5 x 8 slot head
screws since the longer bolts will damage the replacement housings and prevent them
from being positioned correctly.
3). Under certain circumstances, the mudguard may need to be reworked to accommodate the mounting screws of the replacement rear light carriers. Ideally, both screw
holes will be enlarged by about 2mm inward to form horizontal slots.
4). Despite fastening from the underside of the fender, assembly of the replacement
taillight housings can be completed without removing the rear wheel.
