AlphaCom XE syste m provide s c arrie r c lass syste m availability and prote c ts re sourc e s in an IP e nvironm e nt by using
e m be dde d IP se c urity m e c hanism s. The m ain se c urity m e c hanism s use d are re stric te d m anage m e nt ac c e ss, se parate
m anage m e nt inte rfac e , inte rnal fire wall, inte grity c he c k (MD5), virtual LAN (IEEE 802.1Q) and ne twork ac c e ss c ontrol (IEEE
802.1X). The AlphaCom XE proc e ssor board is bac kwards c om patible , thus fac ilitating upgrade s and e xpansion of e xisting
AlphaCom syste m s.
The AlphaCom XE P roc e ssor board is also use d in Exigo syste m s. In the se syste m s it is re sponsible for m aintaining the
c onfiguration and m onitoring of all the de vic e s c onne c te d in addition to c ontrolling the routing of audio in the syste m .
Loc ate d inside the Exigo S yste m Controlle r-1, it give s m ainte nanc e pe rsonne l instant ac c e ss to the status and ac tivity in
the syste m . Exigo syste m s re quiring additional re dundanc y (“ AB” syste m s) will use two Exigo S yste m s c ontrolle rs c ontaining
one Alphac om XE P roc e ssor board e ac h.
