NBA Workshop on Outcome Based
Education & Accreditation
Two faculties prof A.V. Sakhare, Prof A.R.
Raut from Computer Science & Engineering
Department attended four days training on Outcome
Based Education and Accreditation. Workshop was
organized by NBA New Delhi and G.H.R.C.E
Nagpur from 17-20 May 2014. Phase -1 was
conducted through web telecast by resource person
from NBA and phase -2 resource persons were Dr.
P.R. Bajaj and Dr. L.G. Malik. Topics covered in
workshop are Introduction to outcome based
accreditation, essentials of SAR in outcome based
accreditation, significance of mapping in the
assessment, how to fill SAR and accreditation visit
for evaluation of program, topics of such
contemporary relevance.
PG Project External Examination by
Eminent Experts
Department of Computer Science
Engineering conducted PG project defense by

eminent experts from all over the India during 21
May 2014- 2June 2014. Experts visited are Dr. A.G.
Keskar, Dr. K.D. Kulat, Dr. P.S. Deshpande, Dr.
U.A. Deshpande, Dr. S.R. Sathe, Dr. M. Kurhekar,
Dr. R. Keskar fron V.N.I.T. Nagpur , Dr. O.G.

from VJTI Mumbai, Dr. J.V. Aghav, Dr. V.J. Attar,
Dr. Jibi Abraham from COEP Pune, Dr. Shampa

Bhatnagar from AIT Delhi, Dr. U.V. Kulkari from
SGGS Nanded. Experts have appreciated and given

Interviews for prestigious Engineering
Watch fellowship
With a vision to develop professionals with
broad perspective and specialized skills, Engineering
Watch magazine has instituted fellowships to
identify and encourage talent among the aspiring
engineers. G H Raisoni College of Engineering,
Nagpur was the centre for Maharashtra state for
conducting personal interviews of twelfth appeared
students nominated for this prestigious fellowship.
GHRCE has constituted the interview panel
comprising of Dr. B P Butey, Dean First year as
Chairperson and Dr. D J Tidke, Professor
Mechanical Engg, Dr. P M Daigavanne, HoD
Elcetrical engg., Dr. S S Salankar, Dean
International relations and Prof. H S Dalvi, Professor
Electrical Engg were the distinguished panel
members. Interviews were conducted during 15th
May to 22nd May 2014.
Seventy students from various districts
across Maharashtra from Bhavan's B.P Vidya
Mandir & Kendriya Vidyalaya were nominated by
their respective schools. Before the interview the
nominated students had filled a detailed
Questionnaire, which contained an elaborate set of
75 questions. During personal Interviews students
were grilled on their filled responses and the
committee corroborated them with their personal
appearance. Interview committee members found
this as a wonderful exercise of identifying
Engineering Watch Fellows.
Being a remote center for this, Two Week ISTE
PG Dissertation Seminar organized by
Electrical Engineering Department
Mechanics like Prof. SumanChakravarthy and Prof K.
The Final Project submission seminar was
held for 4th Sem M.Tech (IPS) students of Electrical
Engineering Department in the month of May-14.
On 22/5/14, Dr.R.N.Awte of VJTI,Mumbai
conducted viva for 05 PG students. His area of
research is Image Processing.
Dr.H.M.Suryawanshi of VNIT,Nagpur was
expert on 24/5/14 for another 05 PG students. His
area of research is Power Electronics & Drives.
On 30/5/14, Dr.S.A.Khaparde of IIT Bombay was
expert for remaining 05 PG students. His area of
research is Power systems
Two Weeks ISTE Workshop on Fluid
Mechanics by Mechanical Department
workshop total 34 nos of participant have registered for
workshop. Eminent Professors in the domain of Fluid
C. Som from IIT Kharagpur taught the subject in the
workshop though A-View. Respected Director Madam
Dr. P. R. Bajaj and Head of Mechanical department Dr.
P. V. Walke supported and guided for the smooth
conduction of workshop. Remote center coordinator
Prof S. N. Nimbholkar, workshop coordinator Prof. P.
S. Mahankar and technical team has taken effort for
successful completion of workshop. The workshop has
proved best for faculties of Mechanical Engineering in
terms of knowledge up gradation of Fluid Mechanics
and effectives ways of teaching the subject. The
workshop was totally funded by MHRD, Govt. of
India.
GUEST LECTURE
G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering has
organized a Guest lecture on
“Measurement of Intelligence” under
Women’s Cell
Department of Mechanical Engineering of GHRCE,
Nagpur has successfully conducted
the Two Week
ISTE Workshop on Fluid Mechanics during 20th-30th
May 2014 conducted by IIT Kharagpur. It wasan
important initiative has been taken by IIT Bombay and
IIT Kharagpurto work with Engineering Colleges in the
country to enhance the teaching skills of faculty
colleagues in core Engineering and Science subjects.
WORKSHOP/SEMINAR
NBA Nodal workshop-Phase-I & Phase II
attended by Faculty of Electrical
Engineering Department
G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur
has organized a Guest Lecture on “Measurement of
Intelligence” by Mr. Dharmesh Vastani, Director at
Apex Brains Pvt. Ltd., Pune under women’s Cell on
29/4/2014. The talk was mainly about DMIT i.e.
Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test. This
test is to discover inborn talents in humans in a
scientific way through brain mapping. The talk was
highly influential and very beneficial for students in
deciding the course of their career.
Guest Lecture for Faculty organized by

A Guest lecture on “Intelligent grid Feeding
System for Vehicles” was organized by Green Planet
Technokrafts on 2/6/14 for the faculty of Electrical
Engineering Department.
Dr.S.G.Tarnekar introduced the speaker
Mr.Kapse who stressed on the need of connecting
electric vehicles to grid to prevent wastage of
electricity. Dr.P.R.Bajaj, Director of the institute
was also present for the lecture.

resource person for Phase I for this worshop. For
Phase II resource person was Dr.M.M.Khanapurkar.
The workshop was started with how to frame the
vision & mission of the institute, based on which the
department’s vision & mission was to be designed.
This is followed by the stress on why the PEO’s &
PO’s have to be in line with the GA’s (Graduate
Attributes) which have been taken from Washington
Accord. From the PEO’s & PO’s, CO’s are drawn
for the curriculum.

TWO - WEEK ISTE WORKSHOP on Computer
Programming under the National Mission on
Education through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India)
Phase I of Workshop is online activities
during 11th May – 15th June 2014 (5 weeks), Phase II
will be Physical participation at Remote Centers
(GHRCE, Nagpur ID: 1012) during 16th June – 21st
June 2014 and Phase III will be post online
assignment during 23rd June to 6 July 2014.
Workshop is conducted by IIT Bombay.

organized 5 days “YOGA PRANAYAM”
camp under Women’s Cell
G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur
has organized 5 days “Yoga Pranayam” camp under
Women’s Cell from 12th May to 16th May 2014. The
camp was conducted for the benefit of teaching and
non teaching staff of G.H.Raisoni College of Engg.,
Nagur by Col. Pratap Jog (Retd.) and Mrs Padmini
Jog, well known exponents of Yoga. Camp was
inaugurated by Dr.A.Y.Deshmukh, Deputy Director,
GHRCE, Nagpur.
Col. Pratap Jog ( Retd) and Mrs. Padmini Jog
taught the techniques to perform the various asanas
of Pranayam to the participants in a very simplified
way. Col. Jog and Mrs Jog are trainers of high
repute and have trained more than 80,000 people
associated with various defence and civil
organizations. During the camp, Col. Jog and Mrs.
Jog elaborated the concept of Pranayam which not
only brings power and peace to a person but also
helps to improve efficiency and immune system to
lead a healthy and stress free life. All teaching and
non teaching staff of G.H.Raisoni College of Engg.,
Nagur participated enthusiastically and benefited
from the yoga pranayam camp. A few participants
shared their views about the positives of having
attended the camp and how they aspired to use the
experience to their advantage. Dr. Shubhangi
Giripunje, member of Women’s Cell, honored Col.
Jog & Mrs Jog with a Appreciation letter & Gift and
thanked them for their valuable effort and also
thankful to Dr P.R.Bajaj, Director G.H.Raisoni
College of Engg., for organized this camp.
