Intended use
 The maintenance package USB FBI1210-0 is suitable for configuration, monitoring and
maintenance of TCS systems.
 The enclosed interface connects a PC (Laptop) with a TCS system.
 It should be used indoors. For a short period, it can also be used outdoors, if protected
against rain (temperature 0 to 40 °C).
The maintenance package USB is only licensed for the use with full versions of con-
! figurators.
The user software on the TCS-CD is only for informational and testing purposes.
Short description
 Consists of maintenance interface and TCS-CD
 TCS-CD encloses:
a) driver for maintenance interface,
b) limited full version for user software, that requires a license key subject to charge
(PCitACC and call central),
c) full version of configurators:
– configuartion software configo™
– ADx configurator
– PFS configurator
– maintenance programme
 Status indication for operation and serial communication
 standard USB connection
 galvanic isolation between TCS system and PC
 error detection and optical indication of overloads und under-voltage at input:

Possible connections
 For frequent configuration works, the interface can be connected via a Western socket
or an adapter board with the system (Patch cord RJ45 CAT.5e FTP, 2.0 m).
 V1, V2 and P are only connected to the FBI1210 for monitoring purposes.

Description
The connector board also features two 4-pin jacks for connecting a bell button extension as well as a 6-pin screw terminal to connect a cable provided by customer.
EEPROM connection
Via the I2C interface, the following memories can be read-out or written to without a
TCS:BUS must be connected:
 EEPROM board (A) of PES, PUK, PAK, TCU1, TCU2
 ASI11000-EEPROM (B) can be connected via adapter (enclosed in the delivery)
 SPI-EEPROMs (AD1 and AD2) cannot be connected.
Put the EEPROM board into the I2C jack
A: on the underside there are the structural elements
B: on the upper side of the board conducting paths
and structural elements of the ASI-EEPROM.
Note:
This pin header is coated and does not allow a staggered plugging of
the EEPROM board.
If the pin header is accidentally turned by 180°, neither the EEPROM
nor the FBI1210 will be damaged.

Handset connection
If a handset is connected to the device, by using suitable software e.g. TCS:BUS monitor,
voice connections from the FBI1210 to indoor and front-door stations can be established.
In GFA systems, announcements can be made to suitable indoor stations.
For this, connect the handset to the RJ11 jack.

Important notes
 The device supports the operating systems Windows XP (as of SP2), Vista and Windows7, Linux (Kernel with CDC Interface) and MacOS X.
 To operate the FBI1210, a system driver is absolutely necessary.
If no driver has been installed, the interface does not work. Even if the respective TCS
software has been installed on the PC.
 The USB interface is supported as of operating system Windows 98 SE. Older Windows
versions (e.g. Win95 or Win98) are not suitable for the FBI1210.
 The FBI1210 can be operated with USB1.1 and USB2.0 interfaces.
 The USB cable must not be longer than 2 m.
When connecting the FBI1200 for the first time, it may only be connected when the
! PC is already booted.
Installing the driver
1. Start Windows on your PC.
3. Download the latest driver for the virtual COM interface.

2. Start the setup file.
The driver and the virtual COM interface are installed.
Please wait until Console (ill.) is
closed again.
3. Connect the FBI1210 using the USB cable to the USB interface of your PC according to the connection diagram (see p. 2).
6. Connect the FBI1210 to the TCS:BUS using the BUS connection cable (see p. 4).

FAQ
Error pattern
The FBI1210 is not recognised at the PC.
Possible cause
The virtual COM-port-driver
to the FBI1200 cannot
manage all Bluetooth communication connections.
Our solution
1. Open Windows control panel,
System,
tab Hardware,
open device manager.
2. Open connections,
right mouse click on Bluetooth communication connection (COMx),
deactivate.

Waste disposal
The adjoining symbol shows, that the device has to be disposed separately from
domestic waste. The used materials are recyclable. Please do help protecting
our environment and dispose the device via a colection point for electronic scrap.
Dispose the parts of the packaging in collecting tanks for cardboard and paper
resp. plastics.
