INSTRUCTOR: PAUL PRITCHARD
Technical & Training Manager for CSL: In addition to having “hands on” cleanup experience with trauma scenes
including homicide, suicide, and serious accident sites, Paul has extensive knowledge of the safe handling of
hazardous substances and is a member of the Institute of Hazardous Substances Management as well as an
ERMA Test Certifier for HSNO Class 3.1, 3.2, 5.1.1, 6, 8 & 9 Hazardous Substances (used in Urban Pest
Management and Industrial & Institutional Cleaning Industries).

Hazardous Environment Cleaning Course Description
The Hazardous Environment Cleaning course is specifically developed to assist individuals
wanting to engage in professional Crime & Trauma Scene cleanup and decontamination services. It will
cover two different areas of hazard cleanup and decontamination:
 Pathogen/Biohazard Cleanup
 Methamphetamine (P-Lab) Decontamination.
This course has been developed using the following standards:
 NZQA Unit Standard 25388 Prepare for and cleanup after a trauma scene
 United States EPA Voluntary Guidelines for Methamphetamine Laboratory Cleanup
 NZ Ministry of Health Guidelines for the Remediation of Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratory

1.
To secure a seat at a one-day course * or event, a $100 deposit is required. To secure a seat at a two-day
course * or event, a $200 deposit is required. Cancellation of a course must be made at least seven (7)
working days prior to the date of the course/event or the $100 will be forfeited. The cost of attendance of a
translator will be $40 per day, to be paid at the same time as the $100 deposit, under the same conditions.

“No-shows” are not refundable.
3.
Substitutions of students from the same company are accepted only for the whole course as long as notice is
given one (1) day in advance.
4.
CSL and its instructors reserve the right to cancel any courses or event which the Training Manager deems
impractical or inadvisable to deliver including illness, travel disruptions, or other events commonly classed as
force majeure. The limit of liability shall be a refund of the course fees. By registering the student/attendee
waives any and all claims except for the original amount paid.
