Heraeus Precious Colours is one of the leading manufacturers of precious metal decorating materials for ceramics
and glass. High-quality precious metal colours, lustres,
organic colours and carefully matched decorating systems
are produced in four production sites around the world.
Uniform production and development procedures as well
as continual and close technological exchange between
these sites ensures long time know-how and lasting
service and encourages an intensive culture of innovation. Heraeus profits from over 100 years experience in
ceramic decoration designs, which has always made the
department a pioneer in the development of precious
metal colours.
Decorating materials for ceramics are a significant part
of our product range. They have to meet high demands
regarding dishwasher durability and mechanical resistance
on various substrates. Thereby they must fulfil the requirements of the different application techniques and individual firing conditions as well as the legal requirements.

Effect Lustres
Diverse effect lustres, e.g. hammer effect and running lustres.

Should the lustres be used to decorate tiles, then initial tests are necessary because of
varying glaze compositions. Red lustres tend to thicken quickly
and should not be stored for more than 3 months.
