globally since its establishment in 2001 as a cutting-edge technology company with dual

Hitachi High-Tech was created in 2001 from the merger of the Instruments Group and Semiconductor
Manufacturing Equipment Group of Hitachi, Ltd. with Nissei Sangyo Co., Ltd., a company specializing in

The safe operation of Japan’s Shinkansen bullet trains is made possible by electric and track inspection trains for Shinkansen such as Doctor Yellow and East-i. These and other inspection
trains of railway companies are fitted with various types of inspection equipment that bring together applied optical technologies and other innovations developed by Hitachi High-Tech over
the years. Railway track and electrification inspection equipment ensures safety, reliability and passenger comfort for rail transportation, while enabling inspection runs to be performed at
commercial operating speeds at any time of the day.
Furthermore, high-voltage transmission line inspections are vital to ensuring the stable supply of power that is essential to people’s daily lives. In this field, Hitachi High-Tech is supplying
automated power transmission line inspection systems that are able to efficiently perform repairs and equipment lifetime assessments. This is just another example of how we are working to

in the unique position of being able to grasp in advance customer needs and market

The Naka Division is opening new technological frontiers as a development, design and
manufacturing base for Electronic Device Systems and Science & Medical Systems. The Kasado
Division is engaged in etching equipment, which is a key technology in the semiconductor
manufacturing process. Furthermore, Hitachi High-Tech Fine Systems Corporation and Hitachi
High-Tech Science Corporation develop, design and manufacture Social infrastructure

Furthermore, in China, Hitachi Instrument (Suzhou), Ltd., Hitachi Instruments (Dalian)

medical systems. In recent years, Hitachi High-Tech has begun supplying liquid
chromatographs for emerging markets from Dalian, China, beginning with product
