INTRODUCTION SE5000 will implement two versions of serial data output, the digital version specified in chapter 6.2 and the 2400 extended version specified in chapter 6.3 in this document. 3. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this document is to define the format of the D8 serial data outputs available in the Stoneridge Electronics Digital Tachograph. SE5000 supports two formats, Standard SRE output and 2400 output. - Standard SRE output is according to requirements on the new trucks that listen to D8. - 2400 output is according to requirements that the old analogue tachograph 2400 had. This means that SE5000 can be configured to support older trucks that listen on D8 instead of CAN. No problem to replace a 2400 with an SE5000. OVERVIEW 5.1. Input and Output Pins The following data pins shall be used to allow the serial data to be accessed correctly. Rear Board Pin Description D8 Serial Data 5.2. Programmable Data The following data shall be programmed into the unit to allow the serial data to function correctly according to customer wish. RecordDataidentifier D8 Pin Enabled, Serial Data Output Hex FD12 Description Allows the Serial Data output to have different data formats. FD12 = 0x00; Disable D8 FD12 = 0x01; Enable D8, Standard SRE output FD12 = 0x02; Enable D8, 2400 output FD12 = 0x03; Disable D8 6. SERIAL DATA STREAMS A programmable option shall determine the format of data for the serial data stream. There shall be two different formats, a new one for Stoneridge Electronics Digital Tachograph and one for compatability with 2400 Series tachograph systems. Note: References to switch settings are to programming switches in older series tachographs. These settings have been emulated in the 2400 series tachograph to maintain compatibility with the data streams of these older series tachograph, though physical switches do not exist in practice. Similarly the overspeed limit setting shall be indicated in 'pointer steps' to maintain compatibility. The new Stoneridge Electronics Digital Tachograph shall use data formats based on [1] and [2]. 6.1. General Data Parameters 6.1.1. Transmission Rate Baud rate = 1200 bps (1195 actual). Inter message time = max 40 ms for Stoneridge Electronics Digital Tachograph. Repeat time for messages = 500 ms for 2400 compatible serial stream data. 6.1.2. Data Frame Format 11 Bits per frame, consisting of 1 start bit (logic 1) 8 data bits 2 stop bits) 6.1.3. Output Signal Levels TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION Titel/Title: Sida/Page: D8 SERIAL DATA OUTPUT 4(10) Uppgjord/Issued by: Godkänd/Approved: Datum/Date: Dokumentnr./Document no: Arne Lohage ALO 2008-10-16 1231_078-990136 Rev: 01 © Stoneridge Electronics AB, File: P:\STONERIDGE_ELECTRONICS\DT-GROUP\1231 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION\1231_078-990136 01 SE5000 REV 7 D8 SERIAL DATA OUTPUT.DOC Logical '0' is 0V from 1.3 kohms. Normal Serial Data Format (SRE Digital Tachograph) This is a new serial data stream for Stoneridge Electronics Digital Tachograph. Its origin is from requirement 153 in reference [1]. All bytes in the serial data stream are sent in Big Endian format. All parameters are based on ISO16844-7, if nothing else is stated in this document. The normal serial stream has the following format and data. 1. A header of 3 sync frames of 0xFF followed by 27.5 ms delay (extended stop bit) 2. Followed by the bytes of information a) Number of bytes in message (45 to 48 depending on message type). b) Message Identifier (see section 6.2.1.1) c) Date & Time (4 bytes TimeReal) d) Working State Driver 1&2 (see section 6.2.1.2) e) Driver 1 State (see section 6.2.1.3) f) Driver 2 State (see section 6.2.1.4) g) Tachograph Status (see section 6.2.1.5) h) Speed (2 bytes see section 6.2.1.6) i) Vehicle Distance (4 bytes HighResOdometer) j) Trip Distance (4 bytes HighResTripDistance) k) K-factor (2 bytes K-ConstantOfRecordingEquipment) l) Engine Speed (2 bytes see section 6.2.1.7) m) Speed Authorised (2 bytes see section 6.2.1.6) n) Additional information (see section 6.2.1.8) o) Vehicle Identification Number - VIN (18 bytes see section 0) p) Driver 1 Identification Number - DIN 1 (20 bytes see section 6.2.1.10) q) Driver 2 Identification Number - DIN 2 (20 bytes see section 6.2.1.11) r) Vehicle Registration Number - VRN (14 bytes see section 6.2.1.12) s) Registering Member State - RMS (3 bytes see section 6.2.1.13) t) Check Sum (2's complement) VIN, DIN1, DIN2 and VRN messages very rarely change, and therefore do not have to be sent all the time. To reduce the transmission time of the data the serial data will be transmitted as one of 4 sub messages containing the variable data and one of the VIN, DIN1, DIN2 and VRN parameters. As part of the header a message ID shall be given to identify which of the VIN, DIN 1, DIN 2 or VRN is being transmitted in the stream. 6.2.1. Selected Normal Serial Data Bytes Format 6.2.1.1.
