Major Project On Implementation Of Viterbi Decoder
(Jan’10 -Dec ‘10)
 Viterbi Decoder is used to decode the convolution coding which is used in deep space communication
 Design and Simulate the VLSI implementation of a Viterbi decoder using VHDL language
 Proposed the design based on the area and performance of the different Viterbi decoder on the basis
of simulation on the XILINX ISE platform using VHDL language
 Studied the block diagram and different methods for the management of survivor path information of
Viterbi decoder
 Behaviour of design is studied in a high-level hardware description language, VHDL in order to
generate a gate level design
 An interactive process designed in order to optimize communication performance. The main
objective achieved was a design with better throughput and minimum area
Supervisor: Prof Vaibhav Neema, Prof Raksha Upadhyay, IET DAVV INDORE
Minor Project On Traffic Controller
(Jan’10 – May ‘10)
 Learn to design the circuit on the PCB
 Aim of the Project is to control the Road traffic by switching on and off the signal automatically in a
definite time interval
Supervisor: Prof Shailesh Chauhan, IET DAVV INDORE
Automatic Battery Charger
(Jan’10 - May ‘10)
 Designed the circuit which automatically charges the battery when its power level drop below a
certain level and charged up to it’s the max level after that cut of the circuit power.
Supervisor: Prof Tapan Mukherjee, IET DAVV INDORE
KEY ACADEMIC TERM PAPER
Modeling the life time of wireless sensor network
(July’11-Dec ‘11) Prof Amitabh Roy
 Presented the paper ‘A Probability Model for Lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks’ by Moslem
Noori and Masoud Ardakani
 Modeled and find the probability of reaching a certain lifetime for randomly distributed networks
based on the packet generation model of the sensors
 Perform a lifetime analysis at the sensor level and find its probability distribution based on the traffic
model in the sensor for a single-hop network
 Comparison of the lifetime probabilities between a network with uniformly distributed nodes and a
network with nodes distributed according to Poisson distribution, assuming equal energy allocation
among the nodes
Single-Channel Speech Separation Using Phase-Based Method
(July’11-Dec ‘11) Prof Rajesh M Hegde
 Presented the paper ‘Single-Channel Speech Separation Using Phase-Based Methods’ by YunKyung Lee, In Sung Lee, and Oh-Wook Kwon
 Studied the new speech separation algorithm by utilizing both magnitude and phase information,
which can be applied to multimedia mobile communication and navigation systems
 Studied how the probabilistic phase-based speech estimator based on zero-phase models to improve
the speech separation performance
 By combining the conventional magnitude-based speech estimator with the zero-phase compensator
, the proposed method improved SIR by 2.2 dB
