Sunday, November 8, 2015 A Note from Fr. Rob…. We are quickly approaching the end of this liturgical year and we will need to think about the new year beginning. We will be reading from St. Luke’s Gospel which is perfect for the Year of Mercy which begins December 8th. Today’s readings are a reflection on our call to be generous with our time, talent and treasure. Why? Because God is the source of all gifts and God is always generous. Our lives are to mirror God’s in the way we make time for others: a phone call, a minute to chat in the midst of our busy lives, a helping hand, a monetary gift to help the poor. May we pray for the gift of a generous heart. Today’s bulletin includes a financial update from the Finance Committee. Many thanks to all who continue to show great stewardship in support of our parish. We are in a good position with increased offertory, decreased spending, solid ministry outreach and a resolve to provide for the future capital needs of our community: accessible washroom which we hope to complete this winter, and long-term plans (within next 5 years) for the parking lot refurbishment. Thanks to the members of the Finance Committee for their work and to all of you who support our parish financially, prayerfully and with your ministry involvement. We need some faith-filled, generous, outgoing adults to assist our wonderful group of high school student leaders in our programming for our children and youth. Don’t be shy! You will be amazed at how our children can help you grow in your faith. We also need Sunday School leaders to share with the kids at the 11 am mass.
