Contact information is provided at the end of this manual. LABOMED eVO500/ eVO500D Slit Lamp is an all-in-one digital ophthalmic instrument for observation, measurement and diagnosis of Contact lens fitting, Anterior eye segment, Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina etc. Its optimally structured design also allows the eVO500/ eVO500D to be used in laser therapy; this has been achieved by the possibility of operating the Slit projector in the central position either with the left hand or right hand. The excellent transmission of the optical system minimizes light loss during therapy. Together with the excellent image quality, this provides ideal conditions for crisp, crystal clear images of even the finest structure. Considering standard work procedures, the design of this system have been modified to carry an in-builtcamera. The integrated module is optically corrected unit, to deliver the best results in its class. An eVO500D also has a micro SD slot and an HD touch screen panel, which provides you with an optimum, ergonomically corrected configurations and is low on fatigue while in use. The perfection of the observation system along with an outstanding operating convenience ideally complements each other. The outstanding benefits of this design include an effortless operation, short working distance, comfortable arm and body posture, easy grip controls for the sensitive setting of the Slit length, width and rotation. Using the joystick, you can control the eVO500/ eVO500D quickly and precisely in all three coordinates and set it exactly in any position with a quick action locks. The joystick also has a push button at the top which is very easy to use to click photos and videos in eVO500D. 6 Its slit angle of incidence makes it easier to view the inner side by rotating the illumination arm (0° - 90°), giving it a 3 dimensional rigid view of the eye interrelated with slit housing. It makes and rotate the slit at its 0° - 180° position with fine click stop smooth movement option for the corneal view, vertically/horizontally reducing or increasing the size of slit from 0-14mm.With the continuous slit measurement of 1.5 to 11mm and variable fixed measurement at 0.5, 5, 8, 12mm it has enhanced red free, cobalt blue and heat absorbing filters. The user expects the slit lamp microscope to provide optimum stereoscopic observation with selectable magnification. The size of the field of view and the depth of field are expected to be as large as possible, and there should be enough space in front of the microscope for manipulation on the eye. eVO500/ eVO500D is a powerful instrument with 5 step magnification (6.5x, 10x, 16x, 25x& 40x) in combination with a binocular straight head, 12.5x/16mm wide field eyepieces (Diopter adjustment +/-6 ) and a smooth adjustable IPD 48.5-80mm. An eVO500D slit lamp is designed for all digital imaging requirements. Its fatigueless examination with integrated 5.0 mega pixels (1080p) digital module supporting, image capturing and option of recording live on the screen panel in HD quality makes the job even easier while performing examination on the spot. Coupled with an integrated capture button to capture images and make videos which can often be useful to explain to the patient, findings or the condition and fit of a contact lens during an examination. This saves time-consuming theoretical explanations later. This modern technique is well suited for documentation, information and educational purposes and due to its low weight. It does not impair the mobility and ease of handling of the slit lamp. Turn the power using the ON/OFF switch located on the front of the power supply. Brightness can be adjusted by rotating the illumination level knob situated on the microscope base. NOTE: The maximum position is for intermittent use only. Continuous use will shorten lamp life. 2. Insert the projection rod in the pivot post of the instrument body to make rough PD and focus adjustments. Position the light onto the flat surface of the projection rod and adjust the pupillary distance and focus of the eyepieces till a comfortable viewing is obtained. Remove the projection rod. 3. To position a patient, adjust the chinrest height by turning the control knob on the post of the chin rest assembly until the patient’s canthus is in line with the canthus mark on the chin rest post. 4. Microscope elevation is adjusted by rotating the joystick and observing the Slit image through the microscope until the slit is centered on the patient’s cornea. 5. Move the Slit lamp with the joystick held firmly and slightly angled towards the patient, until the slit appears sharply on the cornea. The accuracy of this rough adjustment should be checked by the naked eye. The fine adjustment is performed while observing the slit through the microscope. 6. Tilt the joystick, which is now held lightly at its upper end, until the slit appears sharply at the depth of the eye which is to be observed. The horizontal motion of the base can be locked by tightening the base locking screw. Lock the base whenever the slit lamp is not in use. 7. The slit width can be adjusted by rotating the slit width control knob on either sides of the instrument. 8. The angle between the illumination system and the microscope can be varied between 0° to 90° to either the left or to the right. The angle is indicated on the scale of the slit lamp arm. 12 9. Magnification is altered by rotating the dial on the microscope head. The magnification of each click stop position is engraved on the dial. 10. Three filters are provided for cool and comfortable view. This can be achieved by rotating the filter dial. An eVO500 is a basic and eVO500D is the high end model. So, technically what separates evo500D from evo500 is the broad spectrum of optional accessories that offer solutions best suited for the comfort level of both-the patient and the user of the slit lamp.
